KZbin is just awesome. They have a the great matches from the 80’s and 90’s so I can show my kids just how great tennis used to be. Steffi, Chrissy, Martina, Pete, Andre, Boris, Ivan, Monica, John, Jimmy, ahhhh so many more that I loved to watch.

Yeah, I'm thinking of building a court. I could never play tennis because I couldn't serve - to me, it's impossible to line up a serve accurately when you're looking up at the sky - from my perspective, you might as well be doing it blindfolded! Table tennis was my thing, and I was pretty good at it - the funny part about it is that, if I ever ventured on to a tennis court for some fun with friends, I could always nail the ground-strokes easily, backhand or forehand, with plenty of top spin either side, which comes naturally - a lot of people aren't aware that Bjorn Borg came from a table tennis background, which also accounted for his huge topspin play. Pickle ball seems perfect for me at this stage of my life, given that I'm 64. It doesn't require the athleticism of tennis, and the serving style is similar to table tennis, which is a godsend.

Every time I hear this and then I see pickleball being played, I don’t understand. Other than running, it doesn’t seem like a better game for older players. Not only does it seem it requires much faster reflexes and quick movements as the ball is zipping straight at you, but more than that, there’s so much bending very low which would seem would be hard on the back and knees, specially for older people

It should have been obvious when he was hitting topspin dinks, topspin drops, and slice drops when the others were not. He eased up in game 2 after they plowed McEnroe and Chang in game 1.

@@Summon256 They're not GOAT contenders, but they're all Hall of Famers, that alone makes them 4 of the best players of all time. Mac & Andre may be the only 2 genuine legends here, but Chang & Roddick are obviously better than 99.99% of tennis players who ever played. Not being on the level of Laver, Federer, etc. doesn't change that.

Loved this. One helluva match, as it turns out. I've always loved volleying in tennis, and though the power game took much of it away, it is still an essential skill. Cool game. Some great personalities among such stellar players; plus Fraulein Forehand.

She and Martina both have great claim to the goat title despite Serena being anointed. Serena was half motivated for a lot of her career and was unfit, mostly just showing up for slams and beating up on one dimensional players. There were some great players but they retired early or had kids, or were related. The rest were all trying to out hit Serena and had no plan B.
