I'm not one to talk, none of us are, but you can clearly see it is a much weaker shot. He used to be able to finish with it, but nowadays it's at best a hail mary save, a slice or a set up for his monster forehand

Tbf it is a weakness. He missed two backhand returns here, one off a second serve, which shouldn’t happen much with this kind of talent disparity. Of course, it’s fast indoor hard and Stef was just playing for practice, but still that does show it’s a weakness especially when he’s going up against guys who serve and move much faster.

I'm sure Stef knows Nadal's achievements in doubles when Tsitsipas was really young but let's be honest, Rafa has not really played much doubles for the last several years until Bstaad & the Olympics in 2024 & of course a bit at Laver Cup 2022 & 2017 with Roger & LC 2019 with Stefanos.

Debatable, i think roger is better due to his volleying in doubles....and both have gold in doubles for their respective countries, its just that nadal has played more doubles tournaments

@@iceoj4980Nadal is nearly as good a volleyer as Federer, and has higher doubles IQ from observation. Also places passing shots very well as we all know which is an underrated skill doubles. Federer chips a lot of returns in singles which will get you in trouble in doubles.

It often looks like your ball goes out but it gets called in. You should know, play to the opponents call, not what you think! You did really well against him. Would have been interesting at 5-5 to see what would have happened. Never know, you might meet him on the tour in a year or two 🤞🏼
