I'm really interested by your comment at the start of the video. Sorry to hear about the accident. Were you ambidextrous beforehand, or right-handed?

Other than holding drinks in my left hand i was righty for everything. But I’ve always dabbled with trying things on my left side. When i played football (soccer) i practiced lots with my left foot.

Wow, your lefty forehand looks good. I'd never have guessed you made the switch.

What about the swing path and racket head face? Is it like for normal forehand shots? I do what you say on your video (preparation, distance, timing) but the ball goes at the net most of the times...

I would say still swing upwards, because the topspin will bring the ball down.

@johnvrasta Best this I can say is to watch the slow motion and see what the swing path is. It's going to vary slightly dependent on the height of the ball and what you intent to do with the shot. Ultimately, you have to get out there and practice and make adjustments based on what happens to your shot. Over time (if you have the coordination) you'll develop the ability to make the adjustments. If it doesn't happen, then I recommend training eye to hand coordination.

@@TennisHacker thanks a lot for your answer. I see that it is kind of horizontal or even downward, it slightly goes from bottom to top, in order to generate topspin, but then, in order to keep the ball in, you need to keep in mind of this horizontal path. I concentrated on this yesterday and did not miss even one, in contrast to other times where i was using the classic upward swing path. I think the distance from the ball is also important, longer than the usual forehand as you say. These two changes had a huge impact on my game yesterday

I have a huge problem with this shot although, not so much the shoulder height as much as the higher than shoulder height ball. Think deep moonballs. I try to hit a loopy topspin ball deep as a response unfortunately, I tend to either hitting it too flat so it lands long or too thin and it lands in the bottom of the net. Got a video for that? Been fussing with the problem for years!

@@kevincostelloe4006 In these cases i think that you either move back, to reduce the height where you hit the ball and send it back the same way it came to you, or take it on the rise, if you can, or recognize it early and move forward for a volley. Hitting the ball over the shoulder is super difficult and over frustrating. But i am sure there are even more options which i do not know
