Harry, Thanks for stopping by Swetka’s. Sorry to miss you. Nice video. I just wanted to give a shout out to all of our great employees. The two guys that were stringing that you talked to, Jimmy and Thanh, have been with us for nearly 25 years. They both have great equipment knowledge. You met Claudia who has been at the store for 20 years and we have another women’s buyer, Juli, who helps out and has been with us for nearly 25 years. Perry wasn’t there and he’s been around off and on for 30+ years. Erich is our grinder stringer and he’s strung 10’s of thousands of rackets over the last 6 years. It’s awesome to have such a solid, long term core of employees. We also have some newer employees over the last year that have been helping us. Shout out to Miguel, Tyler, and Cole. After 38 years, I decided to step away from working in the store. I’m still doing some work outside of the store. But like Claudia said, I’m trying to improve my golf game. And of course you missed our leader, John Swetka. John has been leading the show for the last 43 years. Thanks again for the video and hope to run into you again.

Great shop and great people! It was due to their dad Alex Swetka's friendship with Rod Laver that he came down to Cuesta Park public courts to promote ProKennex rackets in 2001. We even got to hit some balls with the great man and it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for so many of us. I can't thank Swetka's enough for creating such precious memories for me.

I bought a stringing machine from Swetkas back in the 80s and they hired me to string rackets for them for a short period of time at their old location. I took 30 years off from tennis and came back to it in the past few years so of course I had to visit Swetka's again. Love the new store and glad they're still going strong. The Swetka's name is legendary in this part of the Bay Area.

We moved to NH in the 1980s so from memory: Adolph's in Newton Center and the Newton Ski and Tennis Shop at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Center (I think). Adolph's was sold some time ago as he was in his 40s when I was a teenager. I don't think that we actually have any tennis shops in New Hampshire. There are pro shops at clubs but it's not the same thing.
