I feel bad for that situation, but rules are rules. I believe that it was an emergency and I would be angry and confused too. But on the other hand, some players can use this "reason" to go out for a long after let-off

Actually, the player has ways to control his toilet emergencies, except from some specific health issues, which would make him unsuited for a sport carreer. Also, toilet emergency situations might be easily abused. Imo, he should have received a code violation for his outburst, too.

You hear the umpire say it's because he went before the match during the warmup as well, so now he has to go and get back quickly. Tsitsipas just took so long because the rule was vague, but he wasn't breaking it. Ivashka was.

the shot which nadal played was completely within the rules so i have no issues with that but it is clearly visible that it was intentional. those who follow rafa's games regularly know that he goes for corners on most occasions in these situations rather than firing the stroke straight in the middle of court.

he had to go to bathroom urgently while the set is still being played which is not allowed. player is allowed the bathroom break once the set is over. so the reffree allowed ivashka to go to bathroom but at his own risk to come back in the limited break time available and ivashka returned after almost 3 times the alloted time and that's why he recieved code violation of game penalty and he was pissed off as it was something not in his control. but even reffree can't do anything here, he had to follow the rules.

@@shikhargovil9579 I think he took a medical - but instead of going straight to the court after it he went to the restroom as he thought it would be absolutely normal. but it wasn't. the umpire never told him that if he goes to the toilet he'll get code violation - that's the reason of his frustration

I love how petty some tennis players are. Paire was only being fair in that match. Tsitsipas should be ashamed of using the shoelace technique and then moving on to the toilet technique after the first got outdated.

Haters are a prerequisite for being successful. All this likability stuff has been made up to put him down. Honestly I have never found his behaviour to be crass or extreme. His comments are misconstrued and he is treated unfairly.
