To this day, I understand all the frustration bubbling up in Michael Ymer. Like, Mr Umpire, how lazy and tardy can you be, to NOT get up out of your seat and check a stupid mark on a clay court. He shouldn't have reacted in such a childisch manner, but then again, the umpire wasn't much better either.

@@Dave002 the rules as far as gameplay goes are mostly the same but dependent on the tournament. Like the Davis cup for example is team play while most tournaments are individuals (or doubles) but the actual scoring of each match is about the same. I don't fully understand why, but some tournaments have line judges, some have automated line judging, some allow more camera reviews and challenges and some don't. Clay tends to be one where they don't offer as much camera replay/challenges. Idk why though honestly, I know you can see marks more clearly in clay, obviously, but more camera reviews and challenges should be allowed at least.

@@benparsons4979 On 17 July 2023, CAS announced that Ymer will be suspended for 18 months after having missed three out-of-competition doping test attempts in a 12-month period.[30][31] Ymer said he was innocent and launched an appeal.[32] The suspension was upheld on appeal, with the CAS also making public that Mikael had stated he missed a drug test due to sleeping in after staying up all night to care for his younger brother[33] (presumably Rafael), who Mikael claimed was sick. The CAS reported that the younger brother was at a junior tennis tournament in Finland at the time so Mikael's version of events could not be true.[34] After the suspension was upheld, Ymer announced his retirement from professional tennis on 25 August 2023.

@ferdk16 3 ай бұрын
The match was in Madrid with a very partisan crowd. Berdych had it with them and antagonized them, eventually doing the shush sign at them when the match was over. Nadal felt disrespecting the crowd was poor behavior and since this was early days when Nadal's english was limited all he could muster was "that was very bad" or something simple like that. He didn't like Berdych's gesture to shut the crowd up. ^Those are the events as they happened, as for my opinion I think it wasn't that big of a deal, Berdych isn't the first nor the last to antagonize a bad crowd, Nadal just felt a bit salty cuz he lost with homecrowd (somewhat understandable in the heat of the moment and he didn't say anything super bad either, even if I think he overreacted).

Rune was right. The ball was clearly out, there was 2-3 cm-s between the mark and the line (afterwards it was shown in video too). The ref was just an assh.le by trying to prove his right instead of apologising.

I'm up for less line judges, less umpire interactions with the players.we don't want to see umpires and line judges, people pay to see the players

i think the umpire in the ymer match shud be fired form his job, it was clearly a a very close call and the umpire should have checked the marked regardless of ymer begging him to

Ymer played the point, you can't ask for the mark to be checked after you have lost the point.
