So that Shadowheart and Laezel cutscene technically is supposed to happen much earlier in the game and would explain why they stop arguing with eachother pretty early on, but I suppose it kept getting replaced with more relevant cutscenes as you progressed through that it got pushed further and further back haha

I think it can happen in the both the first map (grove/goblin camp) and in the Underdark, but it cannot be trigged in the Mountain Pass. It really doesn't work when people do the creche before the underdark though. Ideally it would never trigger after going into the Astral Prism.

@@tgtgggggg eh, it is still relevant why Lae'zel want to know why Shadowheart "has artifact of her people" in a first place, but a bit clunky, agree that at this point it shouldn't probably trigger, but since it is "main", it always does. Better yet, there should be a variation of this scene accounting for a bit of different order.

Yeah I got it really late this playthrough as well, with both Shart and Bae'zel at like 80+ approval. Rather odd cutscene by then.

@@Felhek doing things out of order doesn't necessarily break the game but you can miss out on cutscenes and other stuff if you go too far ahead, and some dialogue won't make much sense

Just saying, the Boots of Speed are much better than you’re realizing. It’s literally just a free no cooldown dash ability with no other cost than your bonus action instead of action. This compared to your ki dash doesn’t expend your resources and can be done as much as you wish. It’s an absolute godsend for melee characters for clearing the distance between targets.

Yes! Those boots are easily some of the best boots in the game… I’ve used them on someone all the way to game end

yep! those boots never left Lae'zel on my first playthrough. on a subsequent playthrough Thulla's quest somehow bugged out for me and I couldn't get the boots - I restarted the playthrough for them 😂

I really like that they have this friendly mindflayer show up, and the reactions to it are always great! I was a bit sad that as a Circle of Spores druid I had all the same dialogue with the myconids as you, it would have been nice to have something special or have them acknowledge it 😢 Love the Underdark, it has such interesting characters and magical places!

To make sure you're caught up on nighttime events you can always "rest" without assigning any food. This triggers any events queued up without providing any benefits to health or spell slots

Mushroom lads! Honestly one of my favourite areas of the whole game. The designs of the myconids are gorgeous and I love the telepathic communication. Also Blurg and Omeluum are adorable, just two nerdy dudes all excited about research ha ha.

Mapo, if you are feeling like Shadowheart is lacking in good offensive spells, then I highly suggest Tempest Domain or Light Domain for her.

Or Nature Domain as well, gets a bunch of great utility and offense. Insect Plague is unbelievably strong in the end game (too high lvl for now of course, but still), especially with war caster and other concentration boosts

Tempest Domain, in full heavy armor set, or at least some plate and some other items, with insane lighting/thunder damage (and quite cool and unique domain AoE), is actually insane. Even without multiclassing to Sorc. Still has healing word and Mass Healing Word, and amulet can help, but otherwise, just caster in heavy armor and kill before even the need to heal, lol. Light Domain is also great. War Domain is hella fun overall, although a bit on the mid-power side... you gotta multiclass to make it OP. But, personally, found it very-very fun to play with, especially with a melee oriented party. Trickery with multiclassing into Rogue actually works fun as well, sort of overlooked and underrated (Trickery in general is trashed for no particular reason, even tho as cleric you still get all the good ones, it is just domain spells/actions are either bad, or situational, even tho Invoke Duplicity is underrated)

Inviting someone to a honour duel in the morning and then shanking them in their sleep is incredibly based actually. One of the few things Sharrans get right. Winning and survival are way too important.

And yes, Gale does have a reaction to wizard player character and spellcaster that isn't wizard. 11:14 Well, it is Lessons for Sensible Living IV, so you might have read some other part by the esteemed Harrington Nethalin xD 19:12 Most likely they did think about it, since there is a pretty obvious branch in which artifact becomes bound to you (in early access and early days of full release, when you dismissed Shadowheart artifact auto-transferred to you always, but now even if you dismiss her it stays with her - my guess is that this significantly increases the chances of Shadowheart staying with it and scene playing out while she has it). Probably just was way easier to have the confrontation and the scene play out the same way without changing too much. 39:10 Gale chest-bomb is also a cantrip lol 1:10:18 If Wyll would be Pact of Blade warlock, which is chosen at lvl3 I believe (type of the pact), then yes, it is a very good weapon for sort of hexblade build 1:22:22 I wonder how they would react if player character was a duergar, which is a possibility

That's crazy, how late you had this Shart vs Lae'zel scene. Maybe it skipped for some reason in your playthrough and playing on a new device triggered its flag like the tutorial messages. At this point it didn't really make sense to happen... Too bad these little immersion breaking things keep happening. But as usual, I'm seeing way more in your playhtrough than I've had in mine. 😄Still, it just goes to show that however great this game is, it's still not perfect. 🙂

For a while I was worried you'd skip the Underdark entirely... I would have too, if it weren't for the need to level up my characters before going further. That would have been a terrible mistake. The region is less packed with events than the surface, but I find them interesting both in terms of lore value and in how they're designed. A Goblin raid and an evil mastermind behind it? Meh, been there, done that. But a hobgoblin mage finding refuge among a species of living mushrooms (also, their leader is iridescent... hello? how cool is that?), and his friend happens to be of the very same species as the monsters who captured us (but free from their grasp)? You can't deny that's way cooler.

First time I played through I didn't really like Laezel, and watched as Shadowheart killed her there... was shortly after Laezel tried to kill me... was early on in the game we were like level 4. Found in my second play through I really liked her character more and tried not to kill off as many companions.

Yea (minor kinda spoilers) Its crazy to me that we never see him again considering this plot is literally all about mindflayers and in some instances tries to go against the idea of them all being part of a hivemind
