Tentacles of a Mother Rotifer

Hello Everyone! James is here and today I have a microscopic animal to show! And it’s next to two single-celled organisms, if you don’t know what you are looking at, it can be extremely hard to distinguish a multicellular organism from a single-celled one. Here in the clip, the one extending over the scene is a rotifer called Collotheca with four eggs attached to its foot (that’s the term for that). One of its eggs was about to hatch. I think it was quite active! . Collotheca extends these amazingly thin hair-like tentacles to feel it’s surrounding, those tentacles vibrate even when I walk around the microscope. It opens its mouth like a cone and waits until something swims right in it, and then it swallows the poor thing! . And the two single-celled organisms are Stentors, one of them is almost constantly in the view and the other one appears from time to time. If you watch it closely you’ll see the Stentor swallowing an alga! . Thanks for reading! . Can you help me with something? I've had a microscope for a few months but I don't live near the sea, or any ponds/lakes and rain is also infrequent (especially now that summer is starting) so where could I find life other than bacteria to observe?

Put greens and grass in a jar, fill it with water, and leave it in the sun for a couple weeks. If not look for old puddles with algae
