Thank you so much for making this review! This is what I'm looking for, comparing nanotexture to a standard glass with a matte screen protector. For me personally, I think I'll go for a standard screen but with the magnetic screen protector so I can remove it after drawing or sculpting to check the colors, or to enjoy some media consumption from the OLED screen itself.

The major advantage of the 1T+ aside from the excessive storage is the RAM capacity, it has 16GB of RAM, while the lesser models have 8GB of RAM... In other words, if you're gonna use this high end model for other high intensity purposed apps as well, it could come in very handy, especially down the road... However, it's indeed very expensive especially if you're also planing to add the magic keyboard and the Apple Care+.

First, who needs that much RAM on a tablet, second - it’s just the same problem: they could just offer the RAM upgrade to models with lower storage as well. Some people just don’t need that much storage. Apple has always aimed to get people to use cloud services, so people who do that don’t need 1TB of storage.

@@quesostuff1009 From what I've heard, intense gaming apps and future potential high intensity rendering apps by utilizing 3D modeling and such, also the serious multitasking utilization by using the"Stage Manager" app... Not sure how accurate the claim is in regards to the limitation of the OS on the new devices, I don't have any of the newer generations of the iPad Pro to test them out yet. I guess if you're planning to keep your device for many years, it's always better to have the maximum ram handy. All those upcoming updates of iPad OS could also abuse your hardware in the long run.

One of Apples most evil move. In Germany the matte display option is a 850€ upcharge, if you do not need 1TB. I can by 2 Ipads at this price alone. So sadly, no way....

well, if it comforts you, in Brazil the 13 inch Ipad pro STARTS at U$ 3.000 at official apple website. with the nanotexture it goes to U$ 5.500 ( WIFI ONLY). If you add the Pencil (yes, U$ 285) + Keyboard (yes, U$722) it goes up to U$6500. All prices can be confirmed in the site of apple store Brazil.

The nanotexture thing is so concerning for longevity. I saw someone do a hardness test and it very quickly became apparent that the texture behaves like a fine grit sand paper. It wore things down that touched it and then got clogged and was unable to be cleaned. That's fine with a matte screen protector because you peel it off when that happens and get another $10 one to replace it with but you can't do that when it's the literal screen getting clogged. It also began to retain scratches WAY earlier than the normal screen. I think the nanotexture thing is cool in theory but it's not going to hold up with normal usage. Maybe if it wasn't a touch screen like how they offer it on their external displays, then it would be fine, but it being touched is going to ruin it.

And I’ve read people who have used their matte glass for years without scratches because they are not testing their displays for scratches. I’ve used the Huion Kamvas Studio Pro 16 with matte for many months and it still looks fine. Now if you work in an environment where it’s risky to the tablet, eg dusty, you don’t like to use case, you throw things around, then yes damage can happen as with even standard glass. I scratched my Samsung Tab S9 Ultra within a week at home.

@@Tej-g1u Using screen protector on nano texture will affect image quality so I don't recommend that but there will be risk of scratches. Not sure how susceptible scratches are on nano texture though. For cases, it really comes down to personal preference. If you need typing, then get keyboard cases but they are significantly heavy.

So the nano is actually much better than a paper-like screen protector, but it's very expensive. For me another issue is that it not only does not protect the screen but makes it more fragile than the regular unprotected glass (see Jerryrigeverything).

Tried it at the Apple Store yesterday and it was filthy, the pencil was catching on fingerprints just like on the glossy display, so I bet it would require frequent cleaning. Found that I prefer the texture of a matte screen protector film over the nanotexture’s smooth glide; I mostly use m2 indoors so I’m not so worried about diffused glare. A good reason for going to the 1tb tier is the added RAM - my current m2 has 8GB and it’s always closing background apps. Curious to know if the nanotexture scratches - my old Cintiqs always ended up with random scratch marks, possibly from the end of a charging cable sweeping across in setup/takedown. One little grain of sand on the cleaning cloth or your palm could leave a mark.

It’s not just a “design fail” but I would called it an excuse of a gimmick. Just like macbook touch bar. I normally stay away from those 1tb 2tb models even as an artist. But I will stick with my M1 iPad Pro 128gb for now.

In my personal opinion, I think the iPad looks neat with that screen texture. Drawing over a matte screen is a good experience for illustrators. It is a shame the exclusivity for the most expensive ipads.

I hope Android will come out with the nano finish I'm drawing on an S8 Ultra with s Pen Creators edition I love it but want to upgrade. I never used Apple anything everything I have is Android, but I like this Apple tablet. Also, I have one terabyte on my tab(512 plus expandable and have used only 1 percent on my expandable and 4 percent on the other. One terabyte is alot of storage for an artist. Thanks for your vids. Tab ultra doesn’t give you the ability for cellular and I bought one to try it for a week and the pen nib was already wearing down plus the screen was so dull. I watched in a pitch black room and in dark scenes I couldn’t see anything.

@@oshoair Glossy is slightly more vibrant. Nano-texture display quality looks very good to me too. I can go with either and will not be disappointed. It's just like some people like glossy photo, some like matte photo. Both look good, just different.

It's not true black because as long as there is light, there will be diffused light and the black will not be pure black. Black will be pure black when there is no light source pointed at the display. If you have a matte LCD display at home, and you have lights on, switch off the display and you'll see that it's not pure black too because of diffused reflection.

My apple pencil pro broke somehow like the tip got bent. Good thing I bought AppleCare. They said they would replace it but it's going to take like 72 hours for it to show up. I had no idea they were that sensitive. I had it in my bag in the pencil holder on my case but I guess something was pressing up against the tip. So I bought like a little case to keep my pencil in

@@teohontech7141 yeah I don't think it was the tip. Yes the tip bent but he says if the metal rod when you take the tip off bends the pencil won't work anymore. And I guess it was a little bit bent. But I didn't do it on purpose. I commented this on another video for iPad artist and he said something similar happened to his Gen 2 pencil when he put it in his backpack when it was attached to the iPad with magnets on the top where it charges. And the pen tip bent. I guess I was just unlucky that the metal rod in mine bent as well

Just make sure the cloth is damp but will not drip water. You don't want the water to go into the seams between the glass and metal frame

I just want Procreate and similar apps with comparable performance on Android, and I won't bother with the iPad anymore! The Tab S9 Ultra is capable of running these apps; it's the developers who aren't prioritizing the Android side.

Could you recommend any brushes or settings that I might be missing? I am using a Tab S9 Ultra with an S Pen. Could it be that the S Pen isn't efficient with the tilt function?

With this superior matte glass, you get relatively more comfortable pencil drawing experience but at the cost of not being able to fully experience the superior display of the new OLED screen with your eyes. The advantages from both options literally offset each other and Apple ridiculously think that we do not realize this and chose to make it a luxury option limiting it only to 1TB models but it’s not a better option becoz no matter how superior this matte nano glass is, the OLED new display will always be worse than the one without it. Does Apple think we can actually buy both? One with nano screen for drawing, one without nano screen for viewing? Seriously? With this pricing?? 😂

Just to be clear, other tablets don't have matte glass. Only the ipad does. The other ones have a matte coating which is completely different and in no way 'matte glass'. If you want a matte glass- the actual glass being etched to be matte- this is your single option. I'm not saying its worth it but you are fundamentally misunderstanding what is happening and so you are making comparisons that don't make much sense.
