Teoscar Hernandez Wants to be a Dodger, Roki Sasaki Scouting Report, How '24 Dodgers Were Different

Just recently saw a clip of a documentary of Dodgers WS season, where there was a MLB technical analyst who showed a heat map of the balls that was pitched to Mookie the past two seasons and this year had been big difference! From 49% of the balls pitched to difficult zone of the rectangle for Mookie previously down to 46% whereas Shohei was completely marked and got all the heaters to the difficult zone. So they were talking about Ohtani was the ultimate lineup protection this year that enabled the rest of the line up to play with much less pressure!! It was easy to see in the graphics!

@ I’m looking for it, I deleted it by mistake, it was uploaded by someone who recorded the recent documentary by NHK annual Shohei Ohtani special this years also including the Dodgers WS season with interviews with Mookie, Freddie, Teoscar, Tommy Edman and Miggy Ro.. and an American veteran writer and MLB Technical Analyst (can’t remember their names! ) who showed the graphics of the difference where the Pitchers were attacking Mookie for the past two seasons compared to 2024. And what the opposing pitchers were doing with Ohtani instead. And he said Ohtani provided a solid lineup protection by having the pitchers go after him..

That's all they need to offer a #6 or #7 starting pitcher: Potential starting rotation for next year: 1. Snell. 2. Glasnow. 3. Yamamoto. 4. Ohtani. 5. Sasaki. 6. Kershaw 7. Buehler. 8. Gonsolin. 9. May. 10. Landon Knack 11. Bobby Miller. 12. Justin Wrobleski 13. Ben Casparius 14. Edgardo Henriquez. If Walker is good with that, great. Sign him. But ask yourself if Walker Buehler would want to come back to the Dodgers on a "prove it" deal where his innings are far from guaranteed, or if another baseball team might offer him more.

Teo and Adames at SS is far more valuable than a sub par outfielder with HR pop…..we got the HR covered already….10 or 15 more isn’t worth Soto

Your also failing to mention that Soto is 26 teo is going to be 33 and adames is 29 and aren’t nearly as consistent. Teo is only valuable on a 3 year contract at 20 million per season. Anything over that is overpriced

Teoscar is 3-4 years max, 4 years is even pushing it. We have enough promising prospects for outfield. Short stop is the bigger problem, what are we going to do with Gavin lux? I want him to stay, but trading for Bo Bichette might be the way to go

Soto is of course better than Teoscar and Adames and everyone else on the Dodgers except for maybe Ohtani and Betts, but he doesn’t necessarily help the team win more than Teoscar and Adames. The chances of winning the World Series is higher with Teoscar and Adames over just Soto. The lineup needs depth to be good and Teoscar and Adames provide better defense which is often overlooked in evaluating teams. There’s also the issue of where Edman plays. If there’s no Adames signing, he becomes the best SS on the team and he’s more well suited for CF or 2B. Putting Edman at SS is not ideal for the team so signing Adames is a bigger need than Soto. Teoscar provides a lot of offense but isn’t as good as Soto obviously, but it does not matter. You will win more games paying Teoscar and Adames rather than just Soto. Don’t put all your eggs on a few star players. The Yankees did not have any real hitting after Chisholm in the playoffs this year. That made them easier to pitch to because there’s only a few guys that can really hurt you in that lineup. 1) Ohtani 2) Betts 3) Freeman 4) Teoscar Hernandez 5) Adames will score more runs than 1) Ohtani 2) Betts 3) Soto 4) Freeman 5) Muncy or whoever else The Dodgers had a weakness in the 5 hole in the playoffs. It isn’t just about having the best hitters in the game at the top of your lineup.
