Gee thanks Obama Clan... Seriously though really looking forward to seeing how this series unfolds, I don't know alot about this period so It'll be interesting to learn about the clans at the time. Todo is a frickin' badass in kessen 1 so I'm glad you're his clan lol. A small nitpick but can you try to remove the blood screen splatter, I find it detracts from the enjoyment of the battles, apart from that this was a great appetizer and I appreciate the new opening and music used!
@OfficiallyDevin10 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean about the bloody splatter, I don't really like it either, I think it is just the default in Darthmod. I do need to look into modding it out. I have already filmed the gameplay for episode 2 so it will unfortunately still be present then, but hopefully from 3 onwards I can get rid of it. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!

Also, Sun Tzu says to avoid sieges. The better Way is to besiege and force an enemy to come out of his castle and fight on the field where you will receive an inherent advantage in being the defender (enemy must defeat you within the battle timer period and must scurry to you where you have already taken up a strong position whilst he is not so strong in his scurrying)
@OfficiallyDevin10 жыл бұрын
A Weir True indeed, although the case where it is perhaps useful to break the rule is where the siege will take too long: especially in the early game where gaining an immediate advantage has long term gains in terms of income.

Have watched this before a couple years ago, but on a rewatch (getting geared up for more FOTS), I notice it *appears* full of snark--preserving his honour by joining the winning side! LOL! i like teh darth mod for you can have the ultra sizes for true numbers. and i like battles that have massive numbers per unit for true scale and to show the total war in all of it's glory and all of it's horror. having line units of 300 men in a shoot out etc. the large numbers is the way to go.

Haven't had enough time to make FP recently, I prioritize making Teppou Republic. However I had managed to make one this weekend so Frank will be back this Wednesday!
@MegaTranquilla10 жыл бұрын
Thats very awesome! I understand these take a lot of time, the editing, the storywriting and telling and of course driving all around the fucking map killing 10 checkpoints on the way can swallow hours. Love the game though. Your priorities are right though, if I had to choose I'd say Teppou> Frank, but it's very close. They are both on an extremly high level. One question though, why do you play on normal unit scale? Is it for performance?
@OfficiallyDevin10 жыл бұрын
Yep, all takes a surprisingly long time! I think I have it on large unit scale but yeah not whatever the largest one is. It is for performance as got some annoying lag in the 40vs40 unit battles in eternal law, although I have since upgraded by graphics card so I think it's less of a problem. I think for my next series I will experiment with the bigger unit sizes to increase the epicness!

@OfficiallyDevin9 жыл бұрын
eli odum It is an edited version of the Darthmod, I merged in some units from another mod and then made some further changes to the unit stats and campaign variables myself. But if you get Darthmod with the ES Units mod and the FotS Artillery mod, all separately, that gets you pretty close to the set up I used for this series.

Excuse me,officiallydevin.I am really don't know.So I need to know abot those two armies,imperial and shogunate.Tell me.What are they look like?Are they army of samurais or western cloth soldiers with japaneses and foreigners nationality or both of samurais and western cloth soldiers?
@OfficiallyDevin10 жыл бұрын
It's all quite mixed. The Imperial army was mostly Japanese soldiers who were trained by Western militaries (Britain, USA), so used modern weapons, uniforms and tactics. But they also had some more traditional ashigaru troops with regular weapons e.g. spear. Meanwhile the Shogunate army had mostly samurai and ashigaru troops, all Japanese, but with French troops fighting as mercenaries, bringing in modern weapons and a few western tactics and uniforms. However, in this game, both sides have access to almost whatever units they want, so it's not quite as different. The Shogunate factions tend to favour samurai more, but they can still recruit western-style units if they want to.

@OfficiallyDevin8 жыл бұрын
Rifles were definitely around at the time, not sure if all infantry used them as standard but I think perhaps they did. Off the top of my head, lots of the weapons in this war were the ones used in the earlier US civil war, and I think the muskets there were rifled.
@Northraider1238 жыл бұрын

For the levy inf as well as line inf, muzzle-loaders are used. Elite infantry tends to use breach-loaders.
@keyonhutson15398 жыл бұрын
Late to the party, but I believe that most of the weapons the Japanese were using around this time were still ball and shot flintlocks. They actually built the best flintlocks in the world around the time everyone stopped using them.
