WarCraft 3 Reign of Chaos and its add-on The Frozen Throne are some of my most favorite games of all time. It is soulcrushing for me see what they've done with this amazing game in the "remaster", Warcraft 3 Reforged. This could be the worst remaster ever made in gaming. This team didn't do justice to the original game. They removed alot of features and removed the classic client: No clans, no profiles, can't have more than one account, no RoC balance in Campaing, no tournaments, no ladder, no LAN, no offline games menu, no custom campaings, no cross-region play and many many more.

I'm talking about Warcraft 3 assets like hero models and lore which were made by Blizzard, and not by Icefrog. Dota 2 blatantly rips off WC3 models and concepts. It's even less subtle than these shitty mobile games that rip off classics to catch your eye in the app stores. Blizzard never claimed to own the concept behind DotA - did they ever sue League of Legends? No. Valve could have developed their own aesthetic, come up with their own heroes and leave the same design created by Icefrog and other modders and it would've been fine. But no, they went so far as to purposefully emulate quirks of WC3 engine to make DotA 2 more similar to the original. There's no way in which this isn't complete scumbaggery.

i started playing wow about 1.5 years ago, althrough it was on private server. Legion was the first server i played for couple of months untill i switched to wotlk. And to this day, wrath is still the best game i've ever played even though i didn't play it in it's retail games. So no, it's not really nostalgia at all... If you want to play fresh and good games, you'll have to look for other companies like CD Project, which so far despite their success still deliver great games, or even better look for smaller so called indie developer. Truth be told, a lot of the models WOULD look a lot better if the game actually had proper lighting to compliment their design. Case and point, check out the Warcraft Reforged in Unreal Engine videos, where a guy added some of the models into that engine. They look exceptionally good there. However, the big lack of animations (especially portrait ones) really pull things back. Had they made the game on a completely new engine, they would've had far less restrictions, quite possibly far less bugs and would also look over all a lot better. The only con would be a lack of cross-play, but nobody asked for that to begin with and older maps for the most part break or look terrible in Reforged, so it's a waste there too

The funniest part to me of all this: I was in the deep throes of hate for Blizzard in 2018 as I was still playing BFA and disgusted at the disappointment I felt for it. When I saw W3 Reforged stratholm cutscene, I knew that the final game wouldn't look like that. Blizzard didn't let my expectations down this time, finally. I was on the winning side of history and did not invest any money whatsoever into this disgrace.

BFA was a disgusting turd, especially when things were looking up with Legion. Then Blizzard pulled this shit. Then they banned a friend of mine on bullshit charges of using a "dll injector" because of a Warden false positive (he apparently had an unofficial launcher for Blade and Soul running that a lot of people use due to technical issues with the official one). Then they stonewalled him and upheld that bullshit ban. Then they threatened to close his account if he kept appeaing. That was it for me.

@@Marinealver Yeah I thought EA ruined Red Alert 3. But not to think RA3 was absolute classic compared to this. At least it was playable, and fun. It felt like they actually put some hard work to make the game. But Reforged feels like, I don't know just, they just copied some models and pasted into game without even checking the bugs. Felt like they didn't even tried to play themselves.
