Marshall McLuhan was a Canadian philosopher, whose work is among the cornerstones of the study of media theory. McLuhan coined the expression "the medium is the message" and the term Global Village, and predicted the World Wide Web almost 30 years before it was invented.
Noam Chomsky is an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, social critic, and political activist. Sometimes called "the father of modern linguistics", he is the author of more than 150 books on topics such as linguistics, war, politics, and mass media.
