Life is such a trip, I haven't thought about Terrance in a long time and just a few hours ago I was telling my brother about his Amazon excursion and then I open KZbin to find something to fall asleep too and this is right there waiting for me. Super cool stuff, thank you sir. Much love you and me, to I and I, ONE (1) vast compartmentalized entity experiencing life from every angle. I've been crazy depressed the past few days and having crazy anxiety withdrawing from Xanax and H after going hard as fuck the past month or so (I really hate winter, especially Christmas). I've been so tired of everything just ready to give up on life and then I listen to this and remember I'm going through this chaos for a reason, it's all a learning experience, darkness is necessary to appreciate light, winter makes you enjoy summer so much more. It's all about balance and for every shitty thing happening in my life something wonderful is happening to someone else's or maybe at another time in mine. I just gotta remind myself to be glad that I'm alive and keep pushing through and carrying the memory and wisdom of those I've lost. In the end it doesn't really matter, energy never dies its just redirected. No matter how bad things get it can always get worse. Love you all, I and I, every one of us.

You are right where the universe needs you to be. We are loved, and your experience is incredibly important to all of us. Each authentic person we share this amazing universe with; is going through an equally difficult, individually unique experience. Experience is Wisdom, wisdom is knowledge, knowledge is power, power is energy, energy is universal. We are merely a sum of our experiences converted into collective energies, and are never destroyed, merely transferred like you said (law of conservation). There is no death, nor suicide, only elsewhere. Its much more fun to play it out and see where things go. Jumping off a roller coaster is not advisable, you always land on another below you. You are a beautiful soul whom has experienced so much, don't waste your gift on other peoples account :)

I'm always amazed at how much information he can transmit in as little as 5 minutes, I believe he does this by saying the exact words which make us think more than what he just said, so he has this encrypted information that's accesed by paying attention to detail and connecting the pieces he lays while progressively building a bigger idea, a set of principles, some of which are barely even touched upon, it happened to me more than once of thinking he said something which he hadn't actually said, I usually find out when I rewatch a talk and I'm expecting something which doesn't happen or when 5 minutes feel like 15, he is the most relevant speaker I've heard, the speaker who probably displays more meaning than anyone else in any give period of time. I didn't even know I had the capacity of following someone so fluid and articulated as him (english is my 2nd language) he is so smooth that almost makes talking that way look easy, but not really, even thinking at that level is hard enough, at least for me, I didn't develop my verbal skills as much as others and maybe I'm naturally unskilled, but his talking really amazes and attracts me like a charm

@@trollsneedhugs Both. One can't exist without the other. We wouldn't have any awareness of consciousness if we didn't think, and we wouldn't be able to think if it weren't for consciousness. It's ok to be human! All of us here watching and listening are ;) Just as darkness gives light context and chaos gives order something to do, our human experience ( and our human mind/ thought processes/ intellect, etc) is the vehicle through which we "discover" consciousness. So i don't feel that the "either/ or" approach is constructive. It's more a case of "both..AND.." . Just embrace the authentic human experience with all its messiness and imperfection. It doesn't have to be an enlightenment competition or morality contest. *Edit: I realise that your question may have been a rhetorical one...hard to tell sometimes on le internet. Anyway. Wow! I thought I've listened to every McKenna lecture, but I don't recall having heard this... these are some of his best words. I admit I'm not much of a fan of some of his overdone raps like timewave zero, but this is really on the nose! This is at least on-par with his best writing (True Hallucinations & The Archaic Revival).
@StephenDruesedow2 жыл бұрын
I also felt I had listened to almost all of his lectures finding a treasure trove of them online in the early 2000s. Given that there were around 60 or 70 recordings, including classics like "The world and it's double," I figured these were ALL of his recordings. And yet I keep discovering new ones online also.

Terence's disdain for some traditions on reaching enlightenment reminds me of Bruce Lee's. I knew someone who had similar disdain for what he called 'the now generation' - wanting something NOW, but he is wrong, wanting enlightenment NOW is the correct choice, not spending a lifetime to maybe get the point of existence. Psychedelics work. Bruce's simpler method of fighting worked. What they maybe don't have is those years of foundation, but as said, few people get it doing it the slow way, instead of taking the lightning path. Sure it helps to have it integrated into your daily life, but will you ever Get There?
