Love to see a younger generation saving the equipment that helped build this country. It may not be as economical, but it did it's job by pure Brite force, and was designed to be rebuilt time after time. Thank you.

Hey , yes she is a Euclid or terex 8240 most likely a DA model . I have an AA model from 1966 . Wonderful machines , heavy , and rugged . Slower than cat but still very good . Yes you’re right the nitrogen is the spring . Use grease to release track tension . I’m guessing drain oil and renew . Fresh fuel bleed her up and as long as no water got into her she will fire right up . Good luck all the best from New Zealand

It's close to his. This one's a 125 iiic which is a bit bigger and a Detroit. Yeah it's loud, but not near as loud as the old Terex with the straight 671! Good reliable iron though.

Great job guys! your going to have 2 sweet Detroits once your get the dozer going. Any clue what your going to need to do with the dozer to get it working again? I know a bit about Detroit Engines but not a whole lot about Dozers, the fact this this one rolled so well probably says some good thing about the driveline? Good luck and what a great adventure you have going here!

When it comes time to work on the idler wheels and the track tensioners what I do is throw the screw threads away away and fit in ten ton Porta Power rams and fit a grease nipple in place of the hydraulic hose ( I chrome the piston rods first) this makes it the same most new equipment.
@HeavyIronAcres3 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I thought about something like that, but doesn't it need a spring in the tensioner to allow for debris getting in the track?
@DieselRamcharger3 жыл бұрын
@@HeavyIronAcres you use the ram to compress the spring. instead of the screw jack.
@bobw70663 жыл бұрын
@@HeavyIronAcres You leave the spring in place and only replace the screw thread, the spring still acts as a shock absorber and the ram adjusts the slack in the tracks
