Don't forget that the older model was always learning from people, like John Connor was actually teaching his Terminator. In this movie Terminator lived 22 years in this world, the other one got out fresh of plant or lab or somewhere. They're neral networks, they're advantage is what they learned. By the way movie is good, don't understand all the stupid fuss. Movie pulls no punches, it doesn't try to ease itself out of difficult situations, it goes breaking bad. It's a good science fiction action thriller. I mean it does not try to make it look like we don't have all the tech advances of our time to make it's plot easier, it uses it to make it better. It shows dark future and stuff. Again, I'm not gonna see continuation of a cool story because of stupid internet fuss. Bitch.

Well, technically true, but never beaten in a fair fight though. In T2 the T1000 was frozen, which screwed it up to the point that it couldn't fully control its body anymore. In T3, a chopper crashes on top of the T-X, followed by the energy cell thingi being shoved in its mouth. And in Genesis it ended up being 3v1, although I'd say that the T800 in Genesis was somehow way stronger then all the other T800s we've seen, which is kinda bullshit. So in short, you are kinda right, but at the same time, wrong.

iforgot87872 the problem is it is connected to T1 and T2. The goal of those movies was to make sure John Connor survived, be it directly by saving him or indirectly by saving his mom. By killing him off so quickly, the movie says “yeah those movies? They didn’t matter, he died anyways.” It May not have been the intention of the writers, but it is the result since now we just have a new chosen one we need to save so screw what happened before. It is similar to TLJ. If I could separate it from the rest of Star Wars it would be average to good. But since it is Star Wars, it drags the movie down by changing characters drastically offscreen, changing the tone to something not seen since phantom menace, and opening plot holes galore do to the known rules of Star Wars being violated. This is a movie that might be good on its own, but is weighed down by its connection to previous movies.

The main issue I have with this film is the termination of John Connor. John Connor is one of the most important characters in the history of film and it was a really bad idea just to kill him off. Imagine if George Lucas killed off Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back. The Return of the Jedi would be a useless film. You can't kill off important characters in a film if you want to keep the franchise going. When I saw that opening scene where John gets killed I thought to myself: They just killed the legendary character John Connor and ousted him from the franchise like he didn't exist. However, I did love the action scenes, the character Grace, Mackenzie did a great job, and that's about it. One character and actions scenes doesn't make a movie great. It seems like they tried to make this film be on the level of Terminator 2 Judgement Day. and failed drastically. As you saw in the film they had references to T2. The playground scene at the end, the T-800 sacrificing himself at the end while Dani and Sarah stand above, and several other scenes.

Terminator 1, 2, and Salvation were awesome. Part one was a solid scifi thriller with a horor vibe to it. Part two was a higher buget ground breaking film that built on the pervious film. Salvation was the only movie to take place in the future and presented a world of new characters with a story that sets up what would eventually lead to Kyle making the trip to go save Sara. But, the trailers gave away the whole movie. I saw it without watching the trailers and loved it!!

I’m a big Terminator fan. I love the concept and mythology of the movies. The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are both awesome. I like that the first Terminator feels like a horror movie. Then T2 took everything to the next level. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and one of the greatest sci-fi action movies ever made. I liked Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines. I really liked Terminator Salvation. It actually has the courage to do something new and different. We got to see the war with the machines and what it did to the world in the future. Christian Bale was awesome as John Connor. I didn’t see Terminator Genisys cause it looked really bad and I heard it was bad. And I sadly had a feeling Terminator: Dark Fate would be the same way. I guess I was right. It’s cool they brought Linda Hamilton back as Sarah Connor but it still didn’t look great.

It had some pretty good ideas, and I like the main character (can't remember the name though), they just took the wrong perspective in my opinion. The story meeded to follow John Connor more, then make the new character a co-lead. Flip the perspective of the movie, then follow the new guy and young Kyle Reese. The story and casting were just fine, great even, but making a new, no-name character the focus was the main mistake.

Jane Alexander starred in a very serious, critically acclaimed film called "Testatment". A low key 1983 film about a family trying to survive after a nuclear war. I doubt many would get it when she cameoed in Salvation as a survivor trying to feed Connor and the gang. If intentional I thought that was pretty cheesy.

1 - The Terminator 2 - Terminator 2 (2.5 - Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) 3 - Terminator Salvation 4 - Terminator 3 5 - Terminator: Jennysmith 6. Terminator: Duck Fate 1 - Alltime classic, can't be replaced. Arnold and Michael and Linda brought something special to life here. 2 - Worthy successor. Linda's best acting in the series, as well as Arnold's. Replaces the horror with action, which makes this movie feel like its own. 2.5 - I finished watching this show last week and, my goodness, the way it actually attempts to explore the secondary characters and the world in-depth is something unique. Sarah Connor (while played by Lena Headey) feels more authenitic than Emilia Clark as Sarah Connor, and, without too many spoilers, shit's good as a sci-fi drama/action series. 3 - Did something different, like the 3 above it. Liked the choices for actors, tone was different compared to the others, makes it stand on its own. 4 thru 6 - Had their moments, but ultimately borrow too much from the first two. T3's ending was prob the best part about it. And uhh... Yeah Arnold carries the bottom 2 for the most part.

I agree with you completely. I was 10 when I saw T1, and even though it wasn't slasher/horror it was scary. It had it all for the time. Nuclear war and fallout. Battling AI. Time travel. Fierce love(not romantic i.e parent child, friend friend, man woman). The question of fate or no. Great action balanced by informative down time. Some of the best parts of the movie were Sarah and Kyle talking and the T-800, alone. You were on the edge of your seat the whole time! I could go on and on lol.

I think that _Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines_ was probably the most natural continuation of the franchise. It had a couple of major issues (Sarah not getting a hero's death, and John being a wimp), but otherwise I think that it actually went in the direction where the story was meant to go. That is, I felt that the obvious step for a sequelto take place, after T2 where we saw how Sarah raised John, was to cover the actual Judgment Day when it occurred. And then the fourth movie would be about John Connor meeting Kyle Reese and began forming the resistance, and then the fifth movie would be about how they finally, actually succeeded, and that would be the actual end of the franchise. At times, they came really close to actually following this simple outline that was implicit from the very first movie, but they did obvious, significant things wrongs each time (Making John a wimp, making a cyborg character who made no sense, and skipping to John's victory at the beginning of a movie only to revert back to time travel for the rest of it). Now it feels like they're trying to reinvent the franchise, which isn't what they need. They need to _complete_ the franchise that they started. Anyway, I like the movie overall, just not as a sequel.

I think people forget or overlook the fact that Terminator 2 has a major plot hole - In Terminator 1, Reese says that he and the T-800 were the only ones to go thru the time "portal" and that after Reese went thru, the resistance smashed the time portal and nothing else from the future could come back. How was it that another T-800 and a new T-1000 came back? Cameron never explains this. If you say that they just built another time machine, then why only send just one Terminator? Same question was asked in Terminator 1 by the doctor interrogating Reese but was resolved for that movie. And in T2, the T-800's arm was stuck in the machinery cog where it had to sever it to continue to fight the T-1000. That arm was still there to be discovered. Those 2 potholes always bothered me.
