I feel like they keep running in to the problem with Terminator movies thinking they have to do more, when in reality they need to be doing less. Less massive action set pieces. Go for a Terminator 1 style. Scale it back. Make it simple and just tell a good story with a T1 style simple yet relentless Terminator. Alternatively they could have a movie set in the future and base it heavily on the future scenes in T1 and T2. Make it real dark and grim. They keep trying to redo Terminator 2 and think upping the craziness is the way forward but I don't agree

I guess Skynet has to be shown as evolving and shapeshifting is one way to portray this. However, the mechanical ones felt real. Those psychopathic robots could be a few years away.
