Like I said, these groups are not a good representation of the accuracy of the system, BUT the zero returns quite well. Thoughts?

I’m assuming the barrels have to be made specifically for this quick change action correct?

yes. they are readily available from a number of manufacturers. Straight Jacket Armory for example.

Very good video, when it comes to precision after taking the barrel off you should look at the Blaser R8...can also take the scope off and there will be no impact point change.

You may not see this but I am curious about your comment. Based on the long action with 2 bolts, does this open you up to basically any caliber?
@Accuracy1st6 ай бұрын
@@toddodle8688 Yep. Any long action magnum, short action magnum, long action standard bolt face, short action standard bolt face. With this action and both bolts I can barrel up and shoot anything I'm interested in: 6 and 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5-284 Norma, 708, 308, 260AI, 270 Win, 280 Rem, 280AI, 30-06, 6.5-06, 7RemMag, 300WM, any PRC including my new 270-7PRC, 300WSM, 300RUM, 338Edge and on and on

@@Accuracy1st now this is amazing news! May be the way to go for sure! Is it just a longer bolt cycle for shot action rounds? I don't honestly think it would make a difference but what are your thoughts?

Has anyone ever run this type of test on a torqued barrel?
@PrecisionRifleNetwork Жыл бұрын
Good question. I'm not sure. I haven't seen one.
@prone_wolf8871 Жыл бұрын
Benches guys change their barrels lots. But I'm not sure if they did poi shift testing.... In theory if your using a torque wrench it should be pretty repeatable...like scopes in rings...... I'm going to be testing using fix it Stix for a light torque value to see if that changes much from just hand tight

Terminus Zeus vs Areo Solus, which would you pick?
@PrecisionRifleNetwork Жыл бұрын
Still the Terminus for me because I never have to headspace when I switch barrels and calibers. Two little set screws is as easy as it gets! The Solus, like all “savage small shank” style barrels, needs to be torqued and headspaced properly each time. That’s not super difficult to do, it’s just a lot of extra steps.
@prone_wolf8871 Жыл бұрын
Terminus.....much better control with one guy checking everything then hourly employees.....
@usernameisaname Жыл бұрын
Terminus gets my vote, easy to set up and Joel (the owner) is a very nice guy and very easy to work with. Aero hasn't been in great standing as of late with quality control and customer service (at least in their AR department)

I love my Zeus but I’m having feeding issue with my Dasher and 12 rnd MDT mags…
@prone_wolf8871 Жыл бұрын
My mdts work well with Creedmoor, no experience with dasher. My chassis has an adjustable mag catch. Can yours be adjusted ?
@viking9934 Жыл бұрын
@@prone_wolf8871 No it’s not adjustable but it’s not the height, as I can’t go higher otherwise I’ll block the bolt travel and lower would be way to low. It’s a Dasher thing I guess… I need to try the ARC mag
@PrecisionRifleNetwork Жыл бұрын
Dasher mags almost always need to be tuned to feed correctly.

@@PrecisionRifleNetwork I’d love to see you make an episode with Joel from Terminus about that

@viking9934 I actually want to build a 6mm arc cause it's so accurate in my gas guns, I want to see what it can do in a good bolt rig
@prone_wolf8871 Жыл бұрын
This rifle shoots much better then shown. Yes, there is a shift in my test....but with the shift, it's only about half inch off of poa... and returns after 5 shots.... You can literally watch it walk back to zero in 5..... I literally remove my barrel to put in a case for transport....no issues. Terminus is excellent and Joel the owner is a good dude... 👍 I'm trying to test a method to use fixit Stix to tighten my barrel instead of my hand so it's more consistent.

No such thing as absolute return to zero. Even the AI system has an MOA shift. Not bad at all. Especially since you can build the terminus system out for much less.
@prone_wolf8871 Жыл бұрын
The shift only matters for the first shot....my terminus returns perfectly after 5 shots in a semi predictable way.... I discussed this with Joel the owner of terminus and told him I'd be removing my barrel every shooting trip. He said no problem as long as I had a good barrel...
