The thermostat in cars is responsible for controlling the engine temperature. The main function of the thermostat is to control the flow of engine cooling water to keep the engine temperature at a suitable level. Symptoms of car thermostat failure are:
1. High engine temperature: If the thermostat is damaged, the cooling water flow may not be completely cut off and not enough to cool the engine. This will increase the temperature of the engine and possibly burn it.
2. Low engine temperature: If the thermostat is damaged and remains open, the cooling water flow is not completely cut off and the engine is continuously at a lower than normal temperature. This reduces engine efficiency and increases fuel consumption
3. Engine temperature instability: If the thermostat is damaged, the cooling water flow may occur unstable or irregular and the engine temperature may change suddenly. This causes improper engine performance and possibly other failures in the cooling system. 4. Engine vibration: In case of thermostat failure, the flow of cooling water occurs unstable and irregular, which may cause abnormal vibrations in the engine. 5. Premature wear of parts: If the thermostat is broken and the engine temperature is improperly controlled, this issue can lead to premature wear of other engine parts. If you experience any of these symptoms in your car, it is better to visit a professional mechanic to check the thermostat and repair or replace it if necessary.
