I played this game a lot on arcade in 87. I love it ! I spended so much time ( really a lot ) of try to found the title for playing it on emulator, all i remember was the first battle boss, flying over huge amiral ship and the possibility of going underground levels. this game bring back a lot of good memory..

I’ve watched a few replays of this now, and I kind of like the switching mechanic. It is a shame about the change in gameplay, though. That really was something unique for the time, and there was a lot of gas left in it, I think.

There are a bunch more games in the series after this. Terra cresta ii, terra cresta 3d, and sol cresta which was released earlier this year. Haven't played then yet but prob will at some point. Also ufo robo dangar which I recently uploaded plays the same as terra cresta.

decent game although there were some regional differences. The Western versions seem to ante up the difficulty by limiting shield pickups while the Japanese Asia versions seem easier due to the shield pickups being more frequent and a little easy to clear without dying.

I also noticed the game defaults to the lowest difficulty setting. I even checked in the manual scans online and they don't seem to specify any dip switch default settings so I just left it with all dips off.

This game looks like a step up from Terra Cresta, but it's a real shame they took out the primary gimick.

I still prefer terra cresta just because of the ship formation aspect of it. I agree Terra force really should have kept that.
