Very clever to make such video, guys! Make it a series to cover all aspects of DBA for newbies. Well done.

You can help me immensely by subscribing to my channel to help me out to get past the magic 1,000 subscriber limit. It costs you nothing but will make my uploading of these videos MUCH easier. Thanks in advance.

Really helpful, thank you. I'm waiting for the BUA video

I would not hold your breath. There are no more plans to do any more rules videos.

@@TonyAguilarFigure-atively well, I'll have to read the rules, I guess :-) Thanks for all your videos, I really like DBA and a big part of it is thanks to you.

@@Ithmn it is unfortunate that the rules are so difficult to get information from and to "get right." I am on the cusp of nearly 2000 DBA games and I still miss stuff. The reason I do not plan on doing rules videos is because no matter how hard I try I still miss stuff or get it wrong which makes it beyond frustrating from my viewpoint. These rules are great but really need some sort of "unofficial guide" something which I do not have time, energy or inclination to do. If was going to go to all that effort, I would be better off just making my own version which would be crystal clear AND fix the few items we have found could be improved from decades of play.

@@TonyAguilarFigure-atively if it's of any help, I also find the rules explanations that you give during a battle really useful. Probably there's no need of specific rules videos when we can enjoy a full battle for the same price.

For the line of sight over the gentle hills, at minute 3:31, it looks like they can actually see each other if you were able to get down to their eye level. Does that matter? Or, do gentle hills automatically block LoS? Thanks for the video. I need to go through my terrain to make sure I understand what I have and to make sure it is all legal as far as size, etc.
@TonyAguilarFigure-atively6 жыл бұрын
Going to eyelevel does not figure into the LOS calculation in DBA. Gentle Hills automatically block LOS across their crest line. Keep in mind that it would have to block the entire LOS drawn, as if it is only partially blocked then you are good.
@SolalBarca6 жыл бұрын
@@TonyAguilarFigure-atively In our game group, we consider in fact two types of Gentle Hills: (mostly) with crest line, but sometimes we only consider that the center of the hill is the top and if you are nearer the edge, you are lower (a radial system without a crest).

One thing about terrain I couldn’t find in the rules: if one element is in bad going, does their opponent get the penalty on the combat dicing? E.g. I have a Aux element defending terrain, some Kn charges them. Do Knights count as fighting in bad going? Sorry for the newbieness of the question.
@TonyAguilarFigure-atively5 жыл бұрын
In 3.0 they would not. In your example, the knights would only get the penalty if any part of the knights element would be in BG.
@Alessandroconti3995 жыл бұрын
@@TonyAguilarFigure-atively thank you very much. I would expect them to, having played other rules sets. Maybe the answer is just to place them some mm behind the edge of the terrain to achieve the same thing?
@bolshoefeodor65366 жыл бұрын
Technically guys, Plough are good going, but on a PIP score of 1 on the 1st bound they "convert" to become rough going. It's a small technicality though. Great video. Great terrain, guys!

Believe it or not, when we made this video we were not aware of this even though we have played 600+ games of DBA 3.0. Part of the problem is that we have played over twice that many of previous versions of the rules and there are subtile differences. On top of that the layout of DBA 3.0 is not easy to grasp, which is why we decided to make videos to begin with. 😊

Another great video guys. Do you ever play DBMM... and, if so, what do you think?
@TonyAguilarFigure-atively6 жыл бұрын
No, we do not. I am sure it is a fine game but we don't have the energy to play a bunch of games (which is even more detailed) just to find out we are doing that wrong too. ;) Honestly, we still find new things in DBA 3.0 so it keeps up on our toes even after thousands of plays.

Not about scenery but will you guys be doing any Big Battle DBA battle reports?
@TonyAguilarFigure-atively6 жыл бұрын
Nope. We don't do BBDBA.
@bolshoefeodor65366 жыл бұрын
We found that BBDBA just seemed to resemble 3 side-by-side 12-element Dba games. We honestly found it distracting and no improvement at all on base DBA.
