I think Adam is right. Making the teleportation system is better. I hate that there has to be 2 npcs to make a pylon work. This won't do for me bc I have all my npcs living in one castle. Not only that, one of the pylons needs hollow to work, I hate that. I prefer to have a pure world... So yeh, I'm just sticking with the teleportation system...

I was watching pedguin and chippy's stream where they played through the game in master mode (journey mode but cranked up to master mode difficulty and journey mode for convenience of content) and they found out that if you go into the bestiary for each npc it has their favorite biome as like the background

If you look at the bestiary of the npc's, it has the biome from where they "belong", so you don't have to overthink it too much.

when you think about it, the happiness Quotes must have took forever to make they need to detect who they live next to and what biome they live in, if they live on there own so there must be so many dialogues

Would have been pretty straight forward actually. Each quote is just a yes/no: Am I in the biome I like? Yes, I like this biome/say nothing Am I near more NPCs than I want to be? I feel crowded/it's nice to have space! Am I near an NPC that I like? I like this NPC!/say nothing

They're not all unique. Notice how the golfer's quote for liking the painter is the same as his quote for liking the zoologist or the cyborg's quote for liking the steampunker is the same as his quote for liking the stylist. Each NPC seems to have the following happiness quotes: - Liked biome. - Liked NPC(s). - Disliked NPC. - Too crowded. - Not crowded. That's five for each of them. When you ask about happiness, the game checks which quotes apply and sticks them all in a single text box. The names of the liked/disliked NPCs are filled in automatically. Let's say I want to make a new NPC: The Knight. The Knight likes the Wizard and the Dryad, but dislikes the Pirate. He prefers the Hallow biome. Here's how his happiness dialogue could be written: [If crowded, say:] This city is a sty; I long for the open country! [If not crowded, say:] Ah, the wilds, where I can seek my quest in peace! [Then, if in Hallow, say:] This is truly a merry and wondrous land. [Then, if near Dryad, say:] It pleases me to live amongst such folk as [copy Dryad's name], whose quest I would merrily pursue. Last time I properly played Terraria was back in 2019, so it was a suprise coming back to a number of new bosses and mechanics! I did the classic rectangle tower with my NPCs and had complaints from all of them on the conditions. I began building the tower back in 2015, customised each of the rooms for the specific NPCs, and it now reaches space! At this point I don't care what conditions they want, they gotta deal with the tower lol.

Here's an extra tip: If you want to know which biome is each npc's favourite, you can check that on the bestiary. There's all the info you'll need, even tho it will only show info for those npcs that are in your world.

@Undefined master mode gives you an extra slot for accessories at the beginning due to it being harder, so he probably used a demon heart too

Very useful fact: If you look in the Bestiary, you'll notice it says that certain NPCs are found in a certain biome. Well, that's actually the biome they like, so you'd want to put them in that biome.
