@@mr.ulysses3919 maybe because making a game entirely from stratch is way harder than updating a game that already has 5000+ items on it. And engine isnt a problem, it might be limited but its not like its impossible to create cool stuff with it. We already got really cool weapons that probably took a lot of programming, like the Zenith or Last Prism. Those prove that even with a limited engine, you can do so many. And also I am scared of the art style changing in a possible sequel (the cancelled otherworld looked pretty bad).

@@Meowlegend7 I agree with the most part you wrote. But the engine is outdated and a new one would bring so much more stuff. Terraria 2 is somewhat confirmed AFAIK. But overall, you are right. And yeah, starting from scratch would be a pain in the ass and takes a long time to have a proper game that you can release.

According to some sites out there, the game won't be using a d20 system, but an action point system (similar to D&D's initiative). Though it's not confirmed, I doubt the game will use a d20. It doesn't talk about conflict resolution mechanics yet, but it does talk about drawing cards out of a deck for treasure items, and says that there will be up to 6 bosses you can fight (but it doesn't tell you which ones). You can also build bases for NPCs to move into, so I'm wondering how that'll work, but still excited nonetheless.
