It's been quite a year hasn't it. It started quietly and is ending insanely. Who would have guessed this would be the year that we would start with the sweet baby and find out just how infiltrated and absolutely putrid the entire industry is. And I couldn't be happier. The more rocks we kick over the more we see what's actually happening. Every time one of these people either gets exposed or for lack of a better word exposes themselves things get better. What's really stupid about this wheel of privilege thing is the fact that people who are white cis men who Do have mental health issues, are obese, are neurodivergent, or have any of the Marginalized traits would just be overlooked because they're a Cis white man. As a cis white male I've dealt with mental health issues, neurodivergency, weight issues, financial problems, on top of other things most of my life and these activists still have the gall to attack me and other people who are in similar positions treating us as racists and bigots for not buying their DEI slop. And it's upsetting how companies I used to support are pushing for this stuff and inherently growing racist and violent towards their consumers. In my workplace we hire based on the top scores of a written test (there's no minority/gender quota or anything, just top X go in). More than half our workforce are women. That wasn't a 'wheel of privilege', it is a 'disk of lies'. If those people really are marginalized just for those traits, then the company should ask how many people that actually is. Because a good company markets for the largest audience than can get. If they want to add stuff to include 'the marginalized', they can ADD it... not replace their entire target audience. Their goal should be inclusion, not swapping. For example, ramps. In the real world, ramps are installed many places to accommodate those in wheel chairs or who are otherwise unable to use stairs. There was no need for a massive campaign insulting the general masses or declaring those people as invalids needing everyone to bow before them and be subservient to them. No, it was just a simple, 'hey, these people are people as well so we should treat them better... not block them from doing things they can do.' Compared to the 'modern audience' thing where their goal is to hate monger against the masses, and making them all bow down before them as some sort of deity. And I don't mean worshipping the 'marginalized', I'm meaning worship these people pushing 'wokism'. They think they're all that, and a stick of butter... trying to marginalize everyone, including the ones they claim to protect, just to put themselves on a pedestal. Well, we just need to keep kicking their kiddie sized step stool out from under them until they realize that they are the bullies trying to convince the adults that everyone else is being mean.
