You're critical of the hair too. talking about the little bangs specifically... change it! Some of y'all go on about stuff that ain't even necessary. Just wasting air out of your body. I am so sorry you had a poor Dollie experience. There is nothing more heartbreaking than investing money you've saved into something you've waited awhile for, and then being disappointed. Knowing wether a doll was pre-owned and from a smoke free home is one of my priorities when buying 2nd hand (or new from artist) because I have asthma. I agree that the doll shouldn't have a specific smells and if it does that should have fully been disclosed at the time of sale! I also highly suggest taking some time to learn about the different doll sculpts, their artist and where it is safe to purchase the sculpts. It may seem like a lot, but in the end you will discover some favorites for yourself. This way, you can spot a fake and avoid the heartache. Right off the bat I can tell that this sculpt is a fake replica, however the parts look mixed from various doll sculpts. The left arm looks to be from the Arianna by Reva Schick sculpt, yet the face I don't fully recognize and could have been altered from the original (Katie Marie by Ann Timmerman). I am not sure where the reborn artist sourced her doll sculpts from, but I can guarantee it was not an authorized seller. If it's from Amazon, Ebay, AliExpress, etc. you risk purchasing fake replica blank doll sculpts. The artists painting style and rooting is very beautiful! I have not seen the edges of a dolls hair permanently glued down, but I do think it is a cool idea to keep the integrity of the style for years to come. I am not gate keeping the reborn doll hobby and I fully support peoples' preference to buy whatever doll they see that is pretty to them and would enjoy in their collection. However, I guess the disappointment comes in when you're expecting one thing (like authenticity) and then it's not. I wish you the best of luck in your next purchase and I hope you still find joy in this cute girl despite of the box opening,

I understand 6our upset especially the smoke smell! I bought a $5000 Joanna Kazmerzack full body silicone that she made herself. Turns out she smelled like smoke! Ay mom passed away so I used the money for that doll. I had to give her several baths and wash her hair.. She is better now but I also had to leave her laying down nude for 2 months to help with the smell! So I should have asked too but I thought a doll like her would be well taken care of!!!!! I hate scammers and she scammed you sending you elly and used stuff....gross I would fe.and myoney back and send all that crap back! I understand about the smoke. It ruined the bond with my doll and now I can't enjoy her!

Ik this feeling all too well. Wash her clothes and body with Lysol laundry disinfectant. As for the vinyl u will probably never get the smell out completely. Give her new stuffing and beads. I soaked my doll in vinegar for a couple of days and it helped a little but not a lot and so I gave up. I put some baking soda in a hat and left that on her for a while and it helped her hair somewhat. The head is usually the worst spot. It’s been a year and a half and she still smells faintly of it but I love her so much she is my fave. My doll might of been worse then ur doll tho cause mine was wrapped in smoked discolored paper and sealed in a large envelope. I could taste the smoke in my mouth when I opened the package. If ur dolls hair is rooted u can probably soak the head longer then I could my dolls hair is glued

You should always ask if the doll is from a smokefree home. I've also learned that the hard way. It's very disappointing when you love a doll and then recieve it that way! I'm so sorry I know what you're feeling. 😢 she is a cute doll but unfortunately the smell will always be there even if you use febreeze or dryer sheets etc.. it might fade over time or you just get used to it but it's not right that people don't mention that before selling.
