If you hit a fuse with sand paper, the connection will be fresh. Aluminum car odes. 😊

The fusible link piece snapped in the middle, no sanding would've fixed that but I get what you mean

Nice find with the wires! You think that attic was low, you should see mine. I have no idea how they got the evap/blower assembly up there and I just hope it runs forever bc I don't have to mess with it. 🤣

Good video, Heat Pumps and Mini Split systems are Gods joke on the HVAC trade. I think what happens to a fuse is that every time there is a surge of current flowing through a fuse just like wire over time it can weakens the internal fuse. I'm sure electricians will say it won't happen , so to hell with electricians.

😅 I don't too much mind heat pumps if they are installed in a dual fuel operation

The blower vibration may come back to haunt you. Sequencer relays do not like vibration, hope it does not come back in. That install wound not pass inspection in my State do to improper access, decking around unit, lighting, lack of receptacle. Horrible install plus leaving junk up there...
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
Yeah it actually amazes me at how these rentals pass any type of inspection. They must have an inside guy

Never did see if the heat strips came on. Did you check the coil on the contactor for the heat strips? Imagine that would be popping your fuse. I saw the outside heat pump working. I would’ve told the landlord that blower motor has to go. But I also know how they’re cheap and don’t want to spend any money.
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
I didn't see it come on at all but that's because the thermostat wasn't kicking it on I know normally about 2 or 3 degrees higher than setpoint Aux heat should kick on it never did. Someone else mentioned a time in the video where they noticed a burn mark on the contactor for the heat strips but I missed that. Due to my location most people never have their heat on anyway so I never thought of the idea that the heat strip contactor could've shorted. Not to say it isn't possible I've just never come across it
@deanmartin19663 ай бұрын
@ That’s probably why they never came on. The contactor coil for the heat strips were probably shorted.
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
@deanmartin1966 yeah. I'll own up to that callback if that's the case. I was really hoping it was the exposed t-stat wire 😅

Weak intermittent contactor coil??
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
Eh, I've never seen that so I wouldn't say it's impossible. I probably could've checked the coil for the heat strips looking back on it
@jes68853 ай бұрын
Happened to me on the same exact unit. Electric heat contactor coil was melted/burnt. If you go back to the 4:45 mark you can see a black melted/burnt mark on the coil , i had to look back lol most likely your issue

What is that vibration, did a three year old get up there and hide his teddy bear in the evap fan. Bad install. Good diagnostics. Good job...
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
🤣 idk man but I think that's why someone was putting bricks and stuff on it. It shakes the load bearing wall in the house
@warenmann10423 ай бұрын
@@AB_HVAC The evap fan shaft is bent or cage out of balance/round. They just didn't won't to replace it. Vibration is bad for fuses and other a/c things like evaporators, so expect more failures. You just might get the chance to replace the air handler As a homeowner I would complain.....
@AB_HVAC3 ай бұрын
@warenmann1042 unfortunately these property managers just want the unit running. I can barely do legit preventative maintenance on these units because they're so cheap. Some people will live in these homes for years and tell me how people only come out when something breaks
