All these tips are so important and my favourite ones are "be an athletic listener" and "avoid punishing behavior". It is so hard to find a good listener because people are always turning the subject around to talk about themselves.
@terri_cole Жыл бұрын
I feel that! I'm hoping I can keep spreading the word so we have more athletic listeners in the world ❤️

Oh boy!! Tip #11 !!! I had never thought to not interrupt even if you KNOW you could tell the story funnier. As an all around funny (and deeply humble) person and the resident story teller in my relationship, I always have the urge to be like “no wait, say it like that” or “don’t forget this part” Life changing advice!!! Thank you ❤️

This whole episode was a treasure! Loved how you told personal stories too. Your perspectives are priceless! The big ones for me were #4 shared vision and #19 do things because..it really makes you treat the relationship as a partnership and reels back in any self centerdness. They both honor your relationship and humbles yourself. Thank you for this sooo much!!😘❤❤❤❤

This was a great episode. It confirmed that some of the things I was asking from my ex were not unreasonable, and it wasn't me being difficult such as compromising to do activities that make me happy even if he's not that interested.

Great advice here Terri. So many very helpful guides to improve relationships, and they're all do-able! I would only add - don't give up. Relationships seem to go through seasons and they can be impacted hugely by how you change. Your partner can't help but respond differently if you change to epitomize what you want your relationship to be,

I absolutely loved this video! What a beautiful reminder of what a healthy, loving, supportive and passionate relationship could look like. Unfortunately at 55 I’m still single as I’ve been unable to find a man who is willing to live those philosophies as of yet

I found this episode and tips very valuable and interesting! Thank you for sharing them Terri. 💕 Quite inspirational. 😊 My favourite is #6 value the other person's goal and #1 mutual respect. In my opinion it so important to value&respect each other's aspirations for a healthy love relationship. Understanding that value& respecting might not be that you& partner have same same goals and interests.

I have problems with not going to bed mad. I try but I fail. But I really want to try to change that. I'm not sure how.
@terri_cole Жыл бұрын
I see you ❤️ I recommend journaling about it. Maybe think about the last time it happened and ask yourself what stopped you from changing it that time. What holds you back? Sometimes it's discomfort because it requires vulnerability to change the dance. I had something similar back in the day when I was a master stonewaller during arguments. I started "calling myself out" and sharing that with the person- “Hey, I’m upset right now. My first instinct is to ignore you and give you the silent treatment. I want to ignore the entire situation, but I want us to effectively problem solve more. So can you please give me a few minutes to cool off and think about how I feel?” “Then let’s come back together and talk it out because I love you and I don’t wanna fight or ignore you to make a point.” I hope that helps xo
