I'm so delighted after a 25-26 year wait since I started watching Crufts back in 1996, an Irish Terrier has finally won the Terrier Group at long last. Brilliant!

Who usually wins in this group?

@@SRNascimento81 Mainly the Welsh Terrier, Wire Fox Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Lakeland Terrier and the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. But this is the first time I've seen an Irish Terrier win the Terrier Group at long last.

My grandson's Jack Russel Terrier worked diligently untwist and remove the lid of a jar..thus freeing captive FIRE FLIES! Lest anyone think he didn't understand his mission..he then opened the door to the yard..letting them out of the house!!!

as a manchester terrier fan (they have been our family dogs since i can remember) i always look forward to the terrier group. they are such a great companion.

Great to see the Irish terrier win - they are fantastic dogs. Our Irish terrier, Lucy, 9 years old now, is loyal, funny, loves children, doesn’t shed hair, protective and always ready for a walk. The commentators spoke of having to hand strip every few weeks but that only applies to show dogs. A clipped cut will reduce the red colour which is in the hair tips. Our local dog groomer does a really great job every 3-4 months with special tools to thin out the hair and help keep the colour.

The Staffie handler was a little rough, and I don’t think the Parson terriers front paws ever touched the ground.

my boyfriend doesnt like dogs (he even grew up with one) but he stayed and watched the bullterriers with me, theire little happy goofy walk even made him laugh

@@pattythrower5700 nah haha :D he bought me 4 cats and he loves my,now our bullterrier. Hes a good boyfriend :) we are together since 8 years and he moved to my country because i couldn´t move to him (germany) since my bullterrier can´t be legally imported there ^-^

I think somebody was looking at the wrong notes when doing the commentary for the Jack Russell as since when were Jack Russell's developed in Australia? Also since when was the Parson Russell Terrier the ancestor of the Jack Russell Terrier , the Parson Russell was registered with the KC in 1990 , the Jack Russell was known for many years before that and the Jack Russell Terrier club of Great Britain was formed in 1974.

It seemed they only had a short path round the ring. Shame as my breed is Airedales and they look magnificent when striding out. Lucky for me my girl LOVED the ring and pretty much showed herself

Io ho un piccolo terrier inglese, quello della foto nell'icona del mio account. Deriva direttamente dal Manchester, e io l'ho comprato in un allevamento di Manchester. Cane straordinario, valido in ogni situazione al solito livello. Sotto la pioggia, mentre corre in aperta campagna, e davanti la stuffa. Alla stessa maniera.

The Bull Terrier Handler - not a good male handler….rough!!!!! Bully’s are an intelligent Breed - no need to yank & pull any Dog on a Leash. A Dog is only as smart as it’s owner….I’m sure many of us have met Dogs that are more intelligent than their Owners….

@@teresathay3264 Crufts should remove the Dog & the handler from the Ring - any Handler who is rough &/or is obviously having difficulty controlling their Dog - they should go…..I always think if people are rough with the Dogs in Public - what happens to the Dog when no one is around. Crufts must set respectable, caring example for Animal & human. We all know many time Dog Shows attract people who are ego driven - & they do not treat their Dogs with Respect….it is all about Winning !!!!!!

@@bondjames7007 You right, but especially on Crufts and Westminster (in USA) nobody care about dogs comfort. I been in one "show kennel" in USA, I spent there 1,5 days only (I can't longer, because I can't agree with what I saw there) Over 100 show dogs spent 24 hours in cages! 20 hours in smaller, arround 4 hours in bigger cages.1 dog in 1 cage. They have a schedule for grooming only. No playtime, no socialization with other dogs, just water, some food, and cages (clean every morning). Worse and sad experience ever for me.

@@soles4569 but…..that is no excuse for a handler being rough with a Dog. It is a highly stressful time for Dogs & having a rough handler, adds to the Dogs confusion etc

@@Memow-pk1ng Staffordshire Bullterrier is one of the british breed. (No need to crop ears in Staffordshire Bullterriers, same in Bullterriers-ears stay natural ) American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bullterrier are prohibited in UK.

I do wish the judge would have a word with these handlers NOT to feed the dog while it's being gone over. Back when I was an exhibitor, this was very much frowned upon. Cringeworthy!

Nothing to do with this dog competition why come on here with this, what putin has done is wrong end of. But this I will say why would anyone have anything to do with a KGB agent putin will always be one that will never change, again why would anyone have anything to do with anyone who's a KGB and I don't care who they are. I was hoping the Irish terrier would win myself they are excellent family dog 🐕 every day we Finn and myself walk anything from 10 km to 15 Km and enjoy every second of his company.
