Excellent, improves and lifts them no end. I'm always adding bits of Evergreen™ or Plastistruct™ to my railway models (as well as PE, LWB or my own castings), even if it only hints at detail that manufacturers (kit or RTR) have left off, it offers an improvement, adds weight, and visual impact to a model👍👍💜💜😊😊 She almost looks complete and better for your add-ons, improvements and weathering, you wouldn't tell it was an ancient kit. Great value and fun modelling time too👍👍

As always Harry, great imagination, vision and skill, which when put together, really elevates the turrets to another level! For 600 scale (and how old?) it really does look the dog's (or cat's! ) danglies! Wicked video Harry, thanks mate 👍👊 Take it easy 👊

Yes a little too tiny for my eyes… next build will be four times larger a scale.

Hello Harry and good morning. Ah yes, 101 things to do with cotton buds, wooden meat skewers (pointy stick things), clear celophane plastic, the list is endless haha. Us modellers are really good at finding uses for all sorts of bits and bobs. Very nice work on the gun turrets, not the easiest because of the size of the things, well done Harry, cheers mate,🇰🇷🇦🇺

Wonderful scratch building! Adding bits of old plastic, the best thing about working on old Airfix kits! Those brass barrels look way better than the originals, too, Harry. I got a set for my Varyag, improved it no end. Great work Harry, the Warspite is coming along nicely! 👍

Excellent stuff and grand results. Bearing in mind that one of the simplest definitions of a Battleship is a "Mobile Gun Platform", or a "Range Weapons Delivery System"; the focus being on the armaments, it makes sense to upgrade the main guns that the eyes are drawn to them. Such a simple solution to making the kit parts fit the bill. Bloody lovely. Cheers Harry.

Boys like long stiff things… the only other thing their eyes are drawn to are big round things with food dispensers

@@HarryHoudiniModels Thank you for another solid Round-up of tips. I am not sure my childhood was at all similar to yours. When I was a little boy, I liked little girls with pretty faces most of all. As I grew up, I became a Face, leg and bottom man. I still have no interest in breasts. My wife is my passion, modelling is my hobby. (And when I say wife, I am referring to Wife 3 the current one).

BTW the most useful trash I ever kept was the aluminium top of a lava lamp, remember those from the last century? It made the perfect -to scale- body for a one man steel bunker/blast shelter! Scribe in the door, add a lifting hook and bingo bongo... 🙂😂
Very creative! Looking forward to the scratch built AAA on the turrets

I will have to dumb them down for the tiny scale, but should be able to come up with something that looks about right

Much, much better, Harry. I don't know where Airfix got the idea to put those bell-ends on the big guns. They did it on their HMS Iron Duke, too.

Terrific work, as usual. I always keep all sort of little parts of ballpoint pens etc for later use. 1:600 is just too small for me, 1:350 is as small as I'll ever go for ships.
