In a day where promoters expected you to keep kayfabe to the extent of being a dick to fans if you’re a heel, Bam Bam was always gracious and accommodating to the fans no matter if he was working heel or babyface. He was always appreciative of the fans.

I met Terry in 1982 in Louisiana. They were getting ready to do a show in a small gym. The first thing he asked was “where can I get some weed?” At the time I was a police officer in uniform. That was the funniest thing ever. It’s a memory that stayed with me. He was a very cool guy. RIP big guy

Bam Bam was bad ass has always been one on my favorites. Tough as hell and loved watching the matches with the Von Erich's. Without Bambam the free birds were just another tag team. Michael Hayes, was pretty hilarious tho. Buddy Roberts loosing his hair and wearing the boxing helmet was comedic gold. All the great wrestler are old and most of them are deceased. WWE is complete trash. Vince McMahon has ruined wrestling with this crap out today.

There were Three Freebirds. Mike, Buddy & Terry. They had entirely different styles of wrestling & with their frequent tags, They were The Ultimate tag-team. My mom was never big time into wrestling, but knew who some of the wrestlers were. Years ago when she was visiting a friend near Memphis (Marion ark) she ran into sid vicious at the pizza hut (he apparently lived there, or still does, not sure). She said he was with some lady and had to duck when he walked him. She said he seemed pretty nice and friendly.

My earliest Gordy memories as a kid was him with Dr. Death, they were legitimately scary to me lol. Not many other guys were that intimidating without other gimmicks. They were big dudes, a notch above the average wrestler, with bad attitudes, and I believed em. In contrast I thought the Road Warriors spiked shoulder pads were scary but they looked bad in the ring, in hindsight, I wasn't really wrong. Gordy was a technician, Williams always connected with fans, that was a great tag team. Great memories, good to know more about a great performer like Gordy.

I'm a lifelong wrestling fan, lifelong Von Erich fan. But I love me some Fabulous Freebirds!! When they joined WCCW here in Texas, it went to another level. Add Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin to the mix, and it became "must see tv." Terry Gordy was just one in a long list of pro wrestlers with drug and alcohol problems. At least he didn't violently assault people when he was drunk, unlike Chris Adams. It's really sad how so many of these guys are no longer with us, but they brought it when they were in the ring. I thank all of them for the great memories ❤

RIP Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy. Loved the Pro Wrestling territories era as a kid! Between CWF from Florida on NBC Saturday at 1-2 PM with the GOAT,Gordon Solie (RIP),and WCW from Georgia on TBS Saturday night from 7-9 PM,also with GS (both NWA) there was a killer rotation featuring a sht ton of now legendary wrestlers, including the Freebirds who were a WCW fixture on TBS. Vince Jr. put an end to that on "Black Saturday." July 14th 1984.

he was a sensational wrestler. Gordy was probably the best of the 3 freebirds. the tag team of Terry Gordy and Dr death Steve Williams was so incredibly talented. I know his daughter wrestles on the indy circuit. very well made documentary

He was a member of the two greatest tag teams, of course the freebirds. But I think if he and Steve Williams could have stayed together they would have been the best ever, the miracle violence connection was a great team

I saw him wrestle in 1978 or 79 in the Greenwood sportatorium when he was wrestling for George and Gill Culkin , it may have been 1977 a long time ago when life was simple and the wrestling was a hell of a lot better , I miss those days Rest In Peace Terry .

As much as I loved watching Terry Gordy as a Freebird, The Miracle Violence Connection was and is one of my Favorite All-time Tag-Teams. RIP, Bam Bam & Dr. Death.

He was the smoothest big guy and Bigalow using the BAM BAM monicur was about as perfect a fit as has ever been. They both were Amazing at their respective sizes and both gone far too soon.

I grew up watching Mid South/UWF…and thats where Gotdy became one of my all time favorites. I was so so so stoked to see him years later in ECW when I was in Philly…that was the only time I got to meet/ chat with him a little. He was a gracious and generous man…surprisingly because he was such a huge factor…being a Freebird and one of the UWF heavyweight champions. We’ll never forget you, big guy. 🪦 Rest Easy Bam Bam 🪦

Terry Gordy was a tremendous performer. It is terribly sad that he died so young. The guy had talent.

Terry was starting to really get good again as myself and Paul Lee worked Pez Whatley and Terry in Riceville Tennessee..He in my opinion had regained all he lost wrestling wise..He was physical as hell again and started his bigger stops in big promotions..I wish decisions he made would have been better

Gordy is the kind of wrestler that some of us could identify to him. The best worker that could wrestle anyone style, be high-flying or mat level and give a great, credible and exciting matches! He was the heart of the FB, doing the hard work. His death was like feeling losing a close friend.
