As a kid in the 80s, I used to tape episodes of Prime Time Wrestling. They sold it so well, I had no idea Bobby and Gorilla were actually best friends in real life. I saw a shoot interview where Bobby said the whole "firing" him from WWF was his idea, and he specifically asked Gorilla to give him a proper sendoff. His emotional on-air tribute to Gorilla after his passing in 1999 is an absolute tear-jerker. WCW tried to deny his request, to which Heenan told them if they didn't allow him to pay tribute to his friend, he'd quit.

I find myself appreciating the “heels” more & more as I get older. With mature eyes you can see the absolute skill these guys had to get the crowd enraged! An entire arena would be chanting “WEASEL WEASEL” at the guy OUTSIDE of the ring! Bobby will be the greatest heat magnet in the history of the business in my opinion. His wit was lightning fast & unmatched. “This isn’t fair to Flair” just one little phrase was all he needed to get the viewer hooked. He’d praise Roddy for saving Flair “thank you Roddy that’s a kilt you got on” then Roddy would hit Flair “Roddy you dress wearing….” lol With the crowd in the palm of his hand. When it was time for him to get his comeuppance he sold it like a pro flailing around, falling & screaming. I couldn’t see how masterful he was as a kid but damn I can now! I can go on & on but I can also hear some people getting annoyed with my rambling saying “WILL YOU STOP” Thank you Bobby THE BRAIN Heenan for making everything so much more entertaining without us even knowing it at the time. RIP

How about when Uncle Elmer got married on Saturday nights main event with Hillbilly Jim and other things going on oh my God there's so many times that that Gorilla Monsoon would say will you stop over and over because of him making fun of the the pigs out there the straw bales all that kind of crap and and yeah it had it had that redneck appeal but it was still Charming to hear Vince McMahon laughing chuckle at the at the down home kind of way maybe it was his his way of making fun of the NWA and his mind is being just a whole bunch of rednecks and and and those types of people.

Bobby Heenan was one of the main reasons I became a wrestling fan. As a kid, I found AWA wrestling on tv in Chicago in the late 70s. Bobby was the most memorable person of a very large group of talented wrestlers. Bobby was so good he made me (a kid who rooted for the good guys) think Buck Zumhoff was a decent human being to cheer for. The only thing I hold against him.😂 I remember watching him in the 80s in the WWF. My dad was never a big wrestling fan, but he always wanted to know when Heenan was on. We would watch the Monday night show every week. My dad had no interest in the matches, he wanted to watch Bobby and Gorilla go at each other.

One of the few hills I'll never abandon, Bobby will always be the best pure talker that the industry has ever seen & undoubtedly ever will see. The Brain was just pure gold every time he opened his mouth.

I would watch pretty boy Bobby Heenan wrestle and manage at the Tyndall Armory in Indianapolis Indiana. One time he and the Iron Sheik were walking down the aisle back to the locker room from the ring when some drunk fan took off his belt and attacked the Sheik with it. Bobby and the Sheik grabbed the man and drugged him through the swinging door to the locker room. I will never forget watching the door swing back and forth exposing what looked like still images from a camera as Bobby and the Iron Sheik were pulverizing the guy with his own belt along with punches and kicks with the final image of the guy laying by the door in a bloody mess. For a young wrestling fan, it didn't get much better than that.

I’m not a big JR fan but I do agree, Bobby is easily the greatest talent in the history of wrestling. I wish Stokely Hathaway can get some direction that would make him the son of Bobby. He has the potential.

I have lost count of how many times Bobby Heenan made me laugh with his off the cuff random remarks on colour commentary. He is without question the best commentator in the history of wrestling, period.

Love this man so much. The greatest wrestling personality of all time. Just a peerless performer in everything he did. Glad I got to meet him once in my life, although he was already very ill by that point and unable to speak. In spite of everything he really seemed to enjoy being surrounded by the wrestling crowd during those last appearances. If it made Brain happy, that's the most important thing.
