Nice one 👍 A scumbag solicitor assaulting a former work colleague and harassing his wife. Then, taken advantage of ,a Spanish man robbed him of 400€ a despicable act . It raises questions, has he deceived other clients of funds? I don't believe the 400€ was the first time he took advantage of people.

It’s incredible how entitled the legal profession feels itself to be in Ireland. They genuinely believe themselves to be above the law and sadly in most cases their beliefs have been proved correct. The legal profession closes ranks and usually the solicitor, barristers or judge is never held accountable.

Our channel's creator here started late into the legal/justice game from his first career in the front facing (I think mostly retail) public commercial area - which is also quite competitive or can be at times. Once he fledged as a solicitor he scoped out the criminal justice arena and how it operated and then significantly decided to forgo that and build his practice elsewhere in the profession.

Her husband Michael O Higgins TD(Cahir O'HIGGINS father ) was brother of TF O'HIGGINS TD (Cahir O'Higgins Uncle) who ran for the Presidency, narrowly beaten by DeValera. I wonder if he was representing gangland criminals. He sounds a bit like lawyer for the mob, throwing punches and such. On the other hand, the legal profession strike me as a mob too. They decide who is in and who is out. They might take issue with a barrister they collectively don`t like, maybe he is a nasty piece of work or it could be someone they are afraid of like young Mr Burke or it could be someone who hasn`t a leg to stand on and they are afraid he`d give the rest of them a bad name if he is not excluded. These, I think are the primary considderations. All very human. Justice is coincidental when it happens.

O Higgins took me on with a public order charge which was entered twice so 2 cases for the one incident and a female guard was under criminal investigation at the start, he only took me on to dump me and recommended the solicitor he was stalking and went on to assault. I knew he was odd when he texted me on a Sunday saying the 2nd part was gone away as it was bullcrap... fair enough, so i explain about the original part of the case by text... he called me a conspiracy theorists and said he wont be representing me and sent an amazingly glowing referral to o mahoney who has the toil and perseverance to see it through ect. Facing such Corruption from the guards who gsoc was breaching my gdpr with a previous solicitor who was relentlessly encouraging me to claim a brain injury to deal with up to 20 charges they had stiched me up with at the time. Hence i was told o Higgins was supposed to be great. Horrid Nation with Horrid people. That man has done some Damage the guards are worse than cahir o Higgins just like the MIB from GSOC who WHITEWASH their handy work.

@@smiley9872 kind words ty. Way worse stuff has happened since. I don't report to the guards or gsoc in search of Justice as it's not part of their Remit... I go to them to try to break even. If they ring your phone about an investigation pending and you don't answer they close the case. I report to military intelligence at the gate of an army barracks to try to prevent what I've endured from happening to someone else! Stolen blood after being put on 2 defibrillators, tortured feet and 6 needle holes on the body. Clinical murderd and revived all day. Yeah nobody see the message just the spooks. Hello

@eugene54547 get the book DIY JUSTICE IN IRELAND, part authored by Stephen Manning of Integerity Ireland... and prosecute the builder yourself in the circuit court Civil case... you have 2 years statutory time. 20 euro and you can subpoena the builder to court. The forms are in the book as the courts kinda make them hard to find. You could bring a Mekensey friend to guide you at the same time. Charge the builder costs too, I think your worth about 1000 euros per hour... court charges too, damages for stress too. Put a lean on his pension while you're at it. Good luck and best wishes!

Tip of the iceberg in a jaded system. Better some progress than none though. Not sure why solicitors and barristers are not more worried ? He was an officer of the court in a legal system that is wholly dependant on officers being scrupulously honest, but petty theft is more indicative of being morally bankrupt. Obviously the Jury found his actions worrying. Re two TD’s and it’s inference, I would posit he is referring to their historic status of being above the law, and inferring members of the public and judiciary should respect that position in Irish society. Glad to see that is still alive an kicking (sarcasm obviously!)

Great video as always, Terry, look forward to your weekly scooter trips, remind me of trips to Taiwan. When you mentioned the 'cycle rage' incident something clicked into place. Pure speculation here, the upper end of the amateur cycling clique (particularly those too old for professional glory, but too egotistical to accept that and treat it like any other hobby) tend to have an unhealthy relationship with performing enhancing substances. As an aside, it takes a particular strain of idiot to take use substances that are proven to not only reduce the contents of those silly lycra shorts, but also render them completely useless to man, woman and beast. I've seen people who take that type of crap more than once engage in patterns of behaviour that are destructive and perplexing. I don't believe that it's just the substance, more that the substance tends to open a door to a nasty part of their character that they've otherwise thus far managed to keep mostly shut. Just a thought, I initially thought there had to have been an honest mistake or an error on the part of the DPP, but I was wrong, it appears Mr. O'Higgins was engaged in a thoroughly destructive cycle, pardon the pun.

Don't believe he stole money off a drunk arsonist. If he did tough shit to the arsonist. I do believe he made notes after the fact but who remembers minor transactions. If he stole the money he'd have made the notes at the time? As for the fight with his protégé probably hurt feelings of betrayal (like a wife cheating on you). He probably really liked the guy. And it was like falling out with his brother. But jobs get to us all. There's a limit to how much you can take. Ongoing harrassment too much. It's one thing to have a verbal blowout. Maybe even thump someone. Most people regret losing their temper immediately afterwards

Cahir O'Higgins, appears to have an excessively competitive spirit and no doubt through his entire career was - with spite - stepping on heels and elbowing those with coffee cups in hand (luckily nothing approaching a crude head but[t] until recently), just the sportsman Ireland needs representing her in international competition. Hopefully, a good proportion of his repeat clientele from his rightfully abandoned practice will flow towards his recent self assigned opponent. What of his road rage incident with the Garda will that provoke the unleashing of some good part of those contingent months that the assault case judge providentially held back?
