Very nice work Ethan! 👍👍👍 I was just talking about picking a Tesla the other day lol my video number 69 I picked one that PickBeard sent me. These are very tricky to pick for sure!

Thanks a lot for watching Tim, I checked out your video, pinning is just like my one! Can’t help admiring the lovely abus you used to hold it too, very nicely done!

@@HobbyPicker lol no worries 😉 I’m also streaming on Wednesday mornings but for longer now too (off due to overtime cuts). I think I may bring that padlock out again this coming week 👍

Nice patient pick HP, got me a GEGE cylinder lock and proving why tricky to pick. small angled key way does not help, but persevering and will pop one day. Try to incorporate the same skills you used to open yours.
@HobbyPicker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and good luck with the GEGE, those things are a proper menace! Have one in my naughty bucket, it’s mainly a challenge to find picks to fit it. As you say, it’ll pop some day, all good experience!

@@HobbyPicker Thanks HP, it's nice to get a lock that does not open in seconds because you need to be challenged at times and this is the challenge. One question please, on the tension side of things, light, medium or heavy works best ? I'm guess light but have tried all three to no avail so far. Thanks for any advice.
@HobbyPicker3 жыл бұрын
@@quotemenot7520 Very true, sometimes it's nice to be faced with a challenge! Regarding the tension, I find light to medium tension to be best, basically enough to make sure the core doesn't turn back during picking. If you're unsure then I recommend trying a technique called 'pulsing' whereby you apply varying tension as you pick the pins, this might help you to get a feel for what works best! Hope this helps.

@@HobbyPicker Thanks HP, I shall give it a go and like to try anything that is different to try to get it open. I have tried raking and rocking but never felt like it would work so going to concentrate on SPP for the feeling of pure satisfaction when it pops. Thanks so much for the help and advice.
@HobbyPicker3 жыл бұрын
@@quotemenot7520 I personally find SPPing to be faster and more methodical, I now very rarely do any raking but that's just a personal preference. It all takes time to learn, and as you know some locks are a challenge even for the most hardened pickers! Best of luck! Don't be afraid to send me an email if you ever want to chat about locks and any questions you may have!

Superb picking of a tricky lock, Ethan. Thanks for the tear down too. How resistant is that one to raking?
@HobbyPicker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think this would be nearly impossible to rake due to how difficult it is to reset pins once they are overset.
