I just got one of these locks today. I still can't pick it. The core goes into a deep false set. Yes, the shackle is sprink loaded and the lock is key retaining. I just took the shackle spring out on my lock to make it normal.

Nicely picked and gutted👌 The entire core assembly looks almost identical to the Lockwood 334 even down to the tapered key pins and tailpiece, the only difference I can see is the keyway, drivers and drill protection is in a different spot. I wonder if the cores would be interchangeable🤔 Have a great Christmas my friend👍🎄🎅🎁🎉✌️

Beautiful lock, nice open and gutting. Quality inside too. I understood the two anti-drill pins but not the extra chamber in the front, thought you said something about them using the same core for multiple locks. But that was probably me not understanding something. In any case, great video Ethan and Merry Christmas! 😊
@HobbyPicker5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! What I was trying to say is that in this model only 2 of the 3 anti drill pin chambers are loaded up, but they use this same type of core in their more secure model, the Yale y300, and in that lock they load up that 3rd empty chamber. Does this make sense? Basically you get an 'upgrade' with the higher security model of lock.
@Chirael5 жыл бұрын
@@HobbyPicker it absolutely does, thank you. For some reason I thought that third chamber was used for something besides an anti-drill pin, but it makes sense now. Thanks for explaining! 😊

@@HobbyPicker picked one up, and decided to not repin yet, having a devil of a time picking it, such a fun lock, had a few very deep false sets but no open yet. loving the challenge ;-) Thanks for the heads up, you made it look so easy you talented person you.

The one I had was the standard model. Still got a annoying shroud in the way.
@HobbyPicker5 жыл бұрын
I believe in that model the shroud has very little purpose anyway! Pretty sure it's plastic isn't it?
