Just had my first tire rotation, it took like 10-15 minutes. So convenient.

Just rotated my tires yesterday and did a ceramic coating of the wheels and calipers while the wheels were off. All that's required is one floor jack (Harbor Freight 3 ton) jacking puck, and one torque wrench. Easy.

and strong arm, or strong left arm, able to lift the wheel in one hand.

I guess the front to back and vice versa works here since the tires are asymmetrical? Also it’s impossible to crisscross them using 1 or 2 floor jacks.

Did the Tesla service rep use a puck or lift pad between the jack and the vehicle frame? I just had Tesla mobile service perform a tire rotation and apparently they did not follow owners manual guidelines and put the jack directly on the frame. Now I have scuffs, frame finish paint chips and dents in at all 4 lift points ! Super pissed and now sure how what I can do.

I would setup a service call and put that in the notes. Talk to them. My guy had a pad on the jack and put it on the spots where the puck goes. No scratches. Sorry that happened to you.

@@marcomm7543 Thanks for the reply. In the video I don't see him place a puck in the hole on the frame. Do you know if he did use a puck, or if he just used the jack which what looks like some padding on the riser?

if tires are directional, can only do swap between front and back.

Great video! Do you know what ft-lbs of torque he applied to each lug nut? I noticed he used a torque wrench.......

75 foot pounds is model 3 lug nut torture. Thanks!

That 75 mentioned is not tight enough. Thats for the Roadster. Model 3, S and X all should be torqued to 130 Ft Lbs.

Will they also do tire replacements (if you provide the tires), or just rotations? Thanks.

Got my model Y on May 1, 2021 and had a Tesla mobile service visit. He said that they would come to my house and do a tire rotation for $50. You got a bargain. Sure looks easy enough to do yourself (myself).

Why did he torque the lug nuts while the tires are suspended? Should be done when tires are on the ground.

Do you need that little jack pad before you jack up the car?

Using pucks always when u jack it up. If u notice his jack, it’s padded and flat. This was also safe.

They need to bring back the thumbs down function so that people don't think that this is how you're supposed to do it. Where do they find "techs" like this. He didn't even use jackstands to hold the car up nor did he choke the wheels. Also that jack that he used is from harbor freight and it's the aluminum one that has a low weight rating. The Tesla is an incredibly heavy vehicle. This guy is taking chances with other people's car. He also did not use a puck like you're supposed to. That black pad on that is on the jack is NOT a puck. That comes attached to that jack when you buy it. The laziness and carelessness of some people. At least it looks like he used a CDI torque wrench but I can guarantee you that someone like this guy that takes no pride in his work will not have it calibrated at least once a year.

Speaking from ignorance without second thoughts seemed to be your preference in passing judgements. The Tesla technician is most likely more skilled, knowledgeable and trained by Tesla, unlike you. It’s widely known now within people in the know that you do not need a puck if you know what you’re doing. The Tesla Jack point is reinforced steel within a reinforced rigid frame holding the battery etc. This was done on a level tarmac so the Park Hold function works very well, even on a slope. The Jack is commonly used by Tesla service technicians and you can see that used commonly, so who are you to be better qualified than Tesla service people in passing judgement off hand. Hybrid steel and aluminium trolley jacks are as strong as a traditional steel hydraulic Jack, maybe not as durable at worst. Guess what, I would prefer to allow a Tesla service technician to service my Tesla rather than someone like you.

@@jacobheinz8236 lol why so triggered? Lifting the vehicle without the use of jackstand is acceptable to you? How about you look up with OSHA regulation is on that. You seem to think he can do no wrong but decades of experience says both of you are clowns.

He would only need to choke the wheels if the car was on a slope and he was jacking the car up from one end.
