It’s called a brake burnish. No need to remove any of the components. You can burnish the brakes yourself if need be.

I appreciate your comment and clarification, I could have done that "burnish" on the hour drive there however it did not correct anything, unfortunately. Rotors and pads still need to be replaced, and the reason why two of the calipers are not retracting and caused grooves to be cut in the rotors would not be corrected with a burnish. hold function is not working as it should and will go into park at a traffic light on flat ground. I feel like a proper inspection rather than a Band-Aid would have been acceptable.

id go back to tesla repair location with this video pulled up on your phone. show to manager. I'm 99% sure they will actually work on your brakes and apologize on behalf of the 1 lazy shit employee who makes the entire shop look bad. gl m8, it sucks when service shops take advantage but none of them want this kind of reputation.

May I ask, how long have you had this car? have you been servicing the brakes every year ? ( cleaning , and applying brake lube? ) I am curious to how those grooves formed, since the car should not use that much braking due to re gen system . But yeah the service centre should be more transparent on what they worked on , prior to ,and after charging customer .

I bought it used 5 months ago and did a full visual inspection, everything looked great and the previous 2 owners looked as if they took great care of it. I am not sure of the service history of it. It is an Arizona car so corrosion was not a concern. I don't drive the car much however my wife drives it back and forth to work weekly about 35 miles a day and brought it to my attention that when pulling out of the garage or leaving work she would hear a dragging sound so we scheduled an appointment to have it looked at, I was assuming that it was going to have the yearly brake clean, and lube preformed. I should have looked it over before driving back home. again I just assumed they know best and more than I do about the braking system of the car.

@@lordallenreviews2325 I see, if Tesla won't look after you, find out how much they would charge for a brake service ( plus rotors ) then get other quotes from other good mechanic shops , don't spend a premium at Tesla, this brake service is the same as any other vehicle nowadays , and good luck !
