Half the people commenting here don't even realize that trucks really aren't good on snow and ice in the first place - especially the super duty 6000+ lbs versions. Snow plowing for 25 years I've realized there are a number of factors that determine how well any vehicle will do in the snow. Tire snow rating, air pressure, and the type of snow/temp. With brand new all terrain tire, low pressure, certain types of snow and temperatures, my truck will not get traction. You need to learn how to use the vehicle. Anyone with experience will know what I am saying...

I drive a built Toyota Tacoma on 35 inch mud tires with front and rear air lockers and I could get stuck trying to slow climb up that hill. You can have basically no traction trying to climb a hill driving on wet snow on top of grass. The right thing to do was back up and get a running start. Someone who was a better driver could get a Honda Accord up that hill and someone who doesn’t know how to off-road in snow could have gotten literally any vehicle stuck on that hill.

I am wondering if the cyber truck will be good offroad, in particular, none of the videos released in the release date did anything remembering 44. We know electric cars can do very good work as 4x4 as illustrated by the Rivian and the Hummer Truck. The Rivian after all completed the Rubicon Trail, something most gasoline Trucks can't dream of doing stock. Even the Ford F-150 lighting that is not designed to do 4x4 can do something with the lockers. On the other hand, we know that initially, the Rivian struggled far more than today, so the problem is the software. Because of that Land Rover has a fantastic opportunity. If they can avoid the quality control issues (keep dreaming) the Electric Land Rovers are going to be monsters off-road.

I am not an off roader, but if I was stuck in the Cybertruck's position, I would not try to conquer the hill in a 90 degree angle towards the road. In stead I would try a 45 degree angle making the slope less steep. Am I wrong?

To be fair to the vehicle itself the tires on the Cybertruck look like they were designed to look cool. They actually look pretty smooth (almost like slicks) and not suited for off road use. Not due to a lack of power on the truck's part. (I do wonder how fine a line it is between getting traction and causing wheelspin in it though. If the throttle is super touch-y it definitely would not help matters.) Put some good rinds on the CT and it'd probably fare much better. (Much like how I used to ice race my SAAB 900 on street tires while my friend ran in the studded class. You can rest assured, my lap times were much slower!)

How is this an off-road vehicle that's going to conquer the wilderness. If I get a truck, I want to modify it by a lot to suit the terrain I want to drive it on. It's not going to be just gravel. I want to upgrade the tyres. I want to add fog-lights on the roof or the front. I need it to have a towing hitch (I hope it's all there). If needed I need to attach a wrench to it with a cable spool. So much to do. Don't know if the Tesla can go off-road or is it just an urban cruiser.
