I remember buying The Great Radio Controversy on cassette when it was released. I pulled out and unfolded the sleeve and noticed it had a lot of wording on it for a rock LP. I proceeded to read about a Nikola Tesla and what he had done. I was fascinated. I was in 6th grade and had never heard of that guy, not in school or tv or anywhere. Funny how an underrated rock band taught me a great deal of forgotten (...or erased) history.

If I had a time machine, I'd download this song to it, go back to the day before Tesla died and play it for him. Tell him everything about the future, his legacy today. It so pains me to think he died peniless, probably thinking that Edison and Marconi had won, he would be forgotten. He almost was, but thanks to the band Tesla and others like them, he wasn't. For those that don't know, he unerringly predicted modern smartphones, even the internet in 1926. From Collider Magazine: "When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole. We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do this will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket" Nikola Tesla January 30th, 1926

Not being a smart ass. But, what does this mean?
@SaintD3826 жыл бұрын
@@Scott45fl12345 I think he's referring to the "skipped" beat in the pre-chorus of the song ("Man outta time, man outta time"). If you count the beats in that part, there are four in the first measure, but only _three_ in the second measure. They omit (or "skip") the last beat of that measure, effectively changing the time signature from 4/4 (four beats per measure) to 3/4 (three beats per measure) for a brief moment. The Beatles experimented with this too, and Rush did it on several songs. Queensryche too, and Dream Theater.
@orionbenjamin74845 жыл бұрын
@@Scott45fl12345 He is talking about the musical structure of the song. As to saying music, for the most part, is on a rhythmic time scale .... Nikola Tesla Wanted To Give Electricity to All For FREE. Rich folks 🤨 did NOT want The People To Have FREE anything. So they did to him about the same as they are trying to do with Our 45th President.
@ragabashmoon1551 Жыл бұрын
Simple, as the song says, he was never out to sell. So that's how Thomas Edison and Marconi (don't even know or care what his first name was) destroyed him as they did. They stole his inventions, discredited him. The only thing Edison actually invented was the electric chair, and he did so by hooking up cats and dogs to an electrical grid to try to "prove" why Tesla's AC current invention was too dangerous and we should use his DC current invention instead. Thing is, AC will throw you and you are much more likely to survive touching it (depending on the amperage. I have a friend that stuck a paperclip in an wall socket and it literally flung him across the entire room. He was fine, as the amperage wasn't too high) hence why he had to strap the cats and dogs down (and why someone in a electric chair jerks so much.) DC you don't need to do that as it does the opposite. You can't let go, and you fry. So many don't realize it because of how he 'erased' Tesla, but he failed to convince anyone to use DC instead of AC. What's powering your home right now? Tesla's AC not Edison's DC.

Going tomorrow night, to meet the guys again. The last meet and greet we did with them[2006] was a memorable time. Frank and I ran across Woodward Ave. to get a picture together with a new Dodge Challenger. He wanted one so bad...and hadn't seen one. Great pictures, and a bunch of great guys.

4:55 for a partial list of Nikola Tesla's contributions to the Modern World. Tesla (the band) 1st album was released almost 30 years ago (1986...whoa I'm old), nobody was talking about Nikola Tesla the Inventor and this Band was - On the literal end, it was/is Knowledge vs Education - All the good info isn't in school textbooks. How many bands (Rush comes to mind) inspire a kid to go to a Library? This band. Read "Man out of Time" by Margaret Chaney. Get into Tesla's albums (the first 3 especially) and Nikola and prepare to have your Mind and Body Rocked!!!!
@geraldschafer95089 жыл бұрын
Yes! Margaret Chaney wrote the best books on Nikola Tesla. Also check out Wizard, it is another great book on the man. Also Iron Maiden introduced me to 'Rime of the Ancient Marnier'. Who says you can't learn and rock at the same time?

What I like about this video? It is not only a rocking song, very rocking, but it actually has a very good meaning behind it. It is not the classic 80s metal "getting with chicks" song. Very intelligent song

Fuck yeah! I hope you dropped a history book on his fuckin head. It doesn't take a genius to realize Edison was trash. Tesla was a legendary American. He truly wanted what was best for us.. 💔
