CarPlay for me would be more about access to my preferred podcast app, so I can stay in sync with it. Maps and route planning might be a bonus, but most folks clamoring for CarPlay support are for niche things that aren’t beneficial for Tesla or the developers of those apps to port.

The need for Apple Car Play is simple for me. Waze and ABRP. They are superior mapping apps. Waze always routes me around issues on my trips. I can't say the same for the Tesla map. It's more. Focused on getting to that next supercharger.

my sister and brother in law were heading out to the same holiday party as me last Xmas. We were heading to rural country and my in-law's house. They were following me and my family in my Tesla while they have their ICE vehicle. They were using WAZE and of course I had Tesla maps. We got to a cross road and they flagged me down. We chatted and WAZE was telling them to go left while Tesla maps was telling me to go straight. We went our own ways and I met them at our in-laws 20 minutes later. They drove up the driveway while I was going out to my car to grab my son's ipad. Needless to say, I was already there for about 10-14 minutes. And I was such an avid WAZE user. In fact sometimes I have WAZE running on my moblie as I drive b/c I love the real time updates WAZE has via other users' interactions. Glad that's coming over to TESLA.

I think you can skip the monthly subscription and have the system use the data in your phone. No different than running android auto or car play in a non Tesla

A lot of families are multilingual, such as my wife and I. We would like to have each user with their own language setting. For example when my wife gets into the car the Tesla should recognize that she wants french, but when I get into the car I would like the setting to automatically switch to English. Do you know if this is currently possible, or a future update for multilingual is in the works?

I literally just want wireless audio. Bluetooth is laggy and delayed. Wifi audio would be superior in sound quality and latency. and I believe I can only get that with Android Auto

Tesla's map never, I mean NEVER, has UPDATED traffic, so sometimes you actually miss places where they are fixing streets or there is construction, because as their map is based on Google Maps not Waze therefore their traffic update is horrible. Por eso Waze es 120% mejor que el mapa de TESLA. I always use it to travel long distances, I don't stick with the TESLA solution, which is trash. Sometimes it even deviates unnecessarily, making me spend more miles.

I have a Tesla. And a car with CarPlay. And CarPlay is absolute total fucking rubbish compared to the Tesla UX…. Maybe a Waze app in Tesla would be good. FWIW I’m a massive supporter of Apple products and their fluent software but CarPlay is like going back into a Toyota infotainment when you’re comparing it to Tesla UX.

Tesla should stop spending money on stuff that few people want and give us what most owners are asking for, Android Auto and Apple Carplay. No other other car company thinks locking customers in is a good idea.
