Honestly IMO you are leading everyone to disappointment. The AI for a 3D physical world does not exist yet. And for many reasons many people believe a humanoid form is not even practical. You are just ignoring too many problems. The FUD about the car was obvious because the car was working. The uncertainty and doubt about Optimus is very real. I'm a long time Tesla fan but don't want to see people being misled. Maybe you are putting too much faith in Elon because he has been right about so much, except FSD. The factory fork-lift of the future will be driven by AI and have cameras to see all around. It wont have a seat and hand controls waiting for a robot to climb in and drive.

@@zaphodbeeblebrox2817 There are definitely risks, but In order to appreciate this type of content, one must think as a VC..... getting IN while the herd is too scared. Most of us are *IN* and we are very early in *_Tesla's long game,_* expecting an asymmetric return by 2030. and beyond. Regarding the BOT capabilities.... I'll go with what the experts are saying. You are not an expert. _This is the type of information that in the past, one typically would get at a board meeting or as an insider. Xerox introduced the Xerox 3100 copier in 1976, it was the latest and greatest of it’s time in the American and European market. It cost around $500 to make, and leased for a 36 month term at $90.00 per month with 2500 copy allowance. Copies over the allowance were billed at 1.5 cents per copy. Nationwide monthly copy volume was around 5,00 per copier. 2,500 copy overage X 1.5 cents = $37.50+ $90.00 lease cost = $127.00 per month for 36 months = $4,572.00 Maintenance cost was around $0.00071 cents per copy for a total of $1,278.00….$4,572.00 - $1,278.00 = $3,294 - $500.00 copier cost = $2,794.00 profit per copier. Xerox sold 8 million in 3 years worldwide of that model. There are approximately 8 billion people on earth that will want an Optimus robot to go with their Smart Phone. Optimus will be a million times more profitable than the Xerox 3100.

Thanks Herbert and Chris! Chris is spot on, it is hard to believe people are not seeing the world altering place we are at with the unfolding humanoid revolution. I have been a hobby roboticist, electronics and AI enthusiast for over 20 years. We are seeing the convergence of all these areas to a point where a humanoid general purpose robot is now practical. Before this point in time it was just not possible. Tesla is the company poised to take this opportunity and run with it. It hits each of the key areas. Not only does it hit the convergent areas with the proven abilitiy to deploy the humanoid work force at scale, but also to drive ongoing innovation to lead this new field for the foreseable future. I really didn't think humanoids would come in my life time. But here we are. It is hard to comprehend the size this will be. It will also change geo polical dynamics completely.

People are just not aware and thinking about it. It's fascinating how oblivious we humans can be to stuff that we're not interested in (Don't ask me about football). I work in skilled nursing facilities and the quality of care is often compromised by lack of skilled, reliable employees. The costs are outrageously high for suboptimal care too. Humanoid robots working in tandem with human nurses and doctors could take great steps towards improving quality and reducing costs. Perhaps humanoid robots could eliminate the need for memory care units for elderly patients with dementia and enable them to live their last months/years at home with their families.

Extremely informative, excellent work gentlemen. So, essentially that indicates that it shouldn’t be too hard for Tesla to make a 10 trillion market cap by 2030, assuming they produce the 1.5 million robots. That doesn’t even factor in ev’s, robo taxi, autonomous, energy, etc. Imagine a 12-15 trillion market cap by then all in? I was thinkijg of that within a 10 year period, so could be sooner

Maybe, but the margins neccessary for financing and scaling won't come from homes. Today we can all buy printers and copiers at just about any store. Xerox introduced the first commercial copier in 1959 and you couldn't buy the Xerox 914, you could only lease it. Xerox made money on the lease, the maintenance, and the supplies. The lease was for 36 months, then you either return, renew, or upgrade to the next model. The Xerox 914 cost $576 to make, and rented for $68.00 per month with 1500 copies per month included. Copies over 1500 were billed at 2 cents ea. Hell of a deal, Optimus will be even better.

Tesla's stock being valued for 'humanoids' any year soon is a lot like the emerging stocks hype in the pandemic...Might come years later, but didn't end well in the short to medium term. It's still an EV company (with headwinds) as far as the market is concerned. Wait for a couple weak quarters, will likely keep declining this year. Patience is key if you're looking at this as an investment.

This will never happen if the griefers at the WEF have their way. Their strategy depends on creating scarcity, and the control that gives them over people.

What showed me more than any other view, addendum, video of the capabilities of humanoid movement adaptations is the robot kicking a spinning football through the goal posts. The action entails kicking the football to spin, then boosting the spin while kicking the spinning football away two steps then looking up to check the placement of the kick then kicking the spinning football through the goalposts around 40 yards. Just simply awesome. Unbelievable really and smacks of ai video alteration which I hope isn't the case.

Great ideas here. It is all coming together nicely. AI, R&D, Manufacturing expertise, and a well signalled demographic shift showing shortage of workers in China, and many other countries. Tesla has the expertise to cover all these basis.

The next five years is going to be really pivotal and exciting in the Tesla space as well as the wider humanoid robotic space. Even if the stock gets half the evaluation in that time it will be higher than my back of the napkin math I had for the company before Optimus or the Cybertruck were revealed. I expected Energy, SAS and the vehicle line up (which would grow) to be how we got there but Optimus is a HUGE OPPORTUNITY that will out shine Apple alone IMHO.

China makes cars now very well as does Tesla, the market will for at least a decade be big enough for many players in the same field, geo political tension will cause China robots troubles outside of China however, would for instance a German company be willing to trust a Chinese company to supply its robotics? What would happen to support and supplies if China invades Taiwan? .. could it trust a Chinese company to not steal internal ideas?

Exactly, there is no reason why demand wouldn't be tried to be met by tesla and/or any competitors. Yes, fast scaling can and will possible be needed, but we have seen in the past that in couple of months lots can be done on that part. Tesla seems to want the optimus (helping) making other optimus, they can for instance continuing add 20% of production towards assembly line instead of sales to improve productivity.

Demand. A robot competing against a millennial that doesn’t want to work. Takes far too many vape breaks. Shows up late because he was watching too much pron. won’t work the call in weekend shift because he’s high Yeah… there isn’t a demand problem. There’s a problem when millennials are out of work and have no money for weed and video games
