TESLA FSD 12.5.1.1 in RAIN

Hello ….. I have had the FSD on in a heavy rain here in Florida ,… it did give me an inclement weather warning and shortly after displayed a red yoke icon Commanding the driver to take over . The visibility at the time was less than 1/2 mile approximately

@@asadalvi7 that is the only thing it can do which means it isn't FSD or anywhere close to it..and likely never to achieve it without major change

Looks good. I drove in some rain this morning too, but was still on 12.3.6 with my '20 model 3. It handled it pretty well, but it looks like 5.1.1 is much better from the videos I've watched so far. For example, 12.3.6 stopped at a blinking yellow light while I was driving it today. I'm pretty sure that's fixed now so I can't wait for the 12.5.1.1.

FSD in bad weather is DSD (dangerous)..i drive 60,000 kms/year on highways..FSD becomes DSD in medium to heavy snow, rain or fog (red flashing steering wheel = FSD heart attack).. worse two weeks again in light morning fog (i could see the sun, etc.) 4 DSD death incidents in 20 minutes..i assume sunlight reflecting off fog blinded the goofy cameras and death it was... Tesla will never achieve FSD with current camera system which is severe achilles heal of system..when they can't see FSD becomes DSD..no single stack AI hocus pocus vapourware mumbo jumbo will change that..me the human took over in each death and continued driving..its clownish to see fluffers touting FSD in sunny weather in city streets..almost no one will pay for FSD for short trips around town and rather than deal with highways and bad weather Tesla pumps out toy updates (parking in a Costco for example) which IMO indicates the severe challenges they face for FSD..IMO robotaxi delayed as new tech system will be rolled out admitting camera system isn''t sufficient..unless of course robotaxi is just for sunny weather

Your comment is all over the place, but anyway. It's possible that cameras aren't enough, but I think they really might be, since we, as humans, drive with vision only. LIDAR has its downfalls as well. Plus, having a system with cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and LIDAR gives a system SO much data (including a lot of unnecessary data) than can "confuse" the system, for lack of a better word. Like I said, it may turn out that cameras alone aren't enough for full autonomy; however, the 12.5 series performs far better in many areas and scenarios compared to Mercedes' level 3 car. So clearly, all of their sensors on their system has immense limitations.

@@brock8752 Let me help you out...Mercedes level 3 is a clown car, speed limitation is for parking lots, not real driving..not my role to define solutions for Tesla but..eyes vs. cameras, human eyes are about 10,000 times more capable than Tesla cameras..much bigger, more differntiallly and preferablly focusable..in your car your head can turn this and that..your eyes are protected by windshield and about two feet from glass..goofy Tesla cameras are external or pressed tight to glass..so small lense tight to windshield very easily blocked..i have memory of roads, conditions, work throughs.. Tesla camera's don't..i can use other senses (like rumble strips) i can use min-distance heads up display..so Tesla camera strategy today will never achieve FSD..now driving around a city in sunny weather (all the pumpers, fluffers and touters never show bad weather highway driving) i suspect it achieves what i call PSD (partial self-driving) but FSD is all weather all conditions, not just when their tech works. IMO the taxi delay is because they know camera tech is not sufficient..and BTW today i had 3 FSD deaths due to highway bumps with two passengers, never happened before but dangerous non-the-less

Tesla on highway have a different software, it's still uses the old version of the software, so it's more unsafe on highways than in the normal city, but the new 12.5 is definitely way more better than the 11v that is used on highways.​@@lor8ancg

​@@lor8ancg And if what I said isn't the problem, then it's your hardware, the actual hardware is the hardware 4 if your Tesla is Below 2021 or 2022 your Tesla have the hardware 3.

​@@Fumadoresdeborracha2he's right, tesla hardware 5 will deal with snow and rain limitation through some tech to keep cameras working optimally even in those conditions
