Tesla FSD V12 is a “ChatGPT Moment”

Elon Musk is betting on Tesla's autonomous future. The company is going all out to perfect its FSD technology and launch a Uber competitor/ride-sharing app later this year. After hearing Elon's excitement on FSD V12, on the conference call, mentioning the Cybercab, and stressing how important it was for investors to understand ... I've been doing homework on Tesla's self driving tech. I stumbled across the BG2 podcast, Episode 4 about Tesla's FSD v12, which does an INSANELY good job breaking down the incredible progress in Tesla's underlying tech, and how this is Tesla's 'ChatGPT' moment with real world AI. Early 2019 I started buying Tesla. Then you had lunch, with Elon, his Mom & brother, at the round table in LA. An unforgettable time I would have never forgotten. I've never stopped buying and now have thousands of shares, which I sell covered calls to help add to the shares. Pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I'm not selling for quite a while. I'll have enough $$ to buy that fast airplane I always wanted.

@@jkimo1178you miss something critical, the rate of Improvement with this kind of machine learning is EXPONENTIAL, not incremental. You will see a lot of progress in the next few months. The version they’re at now is only a years worth of work with sub par compute at best, They’ve increased compute 130% in Q1 alone. With plans to increase that exponentially.

I've been beyond impressed with it. I'm so glad they dropped the subscription to $99 a month. Between that and the requirement that all buyers are given a demo drive with fsd vs 12 there should be a massive amount of profit to come. It is the most profitable thing they sell given it is just found money for anyone who adds it given the hardware is already installed.

Are you not hyping up elons marketing a bit too much? The valuation of the tsla stock is based on parabolic growth of car sales with a high profit margin, and that outlook has changed quite a bit. FSD just is not ready for make huge profits yet. the production line for the cybertaxi is years away. The stock has been pumping because a few old screenshots of a ride hailing app were shown in the presentation and elon made some remarks about a cheaper car next year. That could easily be a simpler version of the model 3. There's more bad new too: Competition covers the 25k segment before tesla does. And with musk's interest in conspiracy theories and propaganda on X, he's losing a lot of potential clients, especially in Europe. I've been very bullish on tesla in the past, but at this point the valuation does not make sense to me.

The concern I have - still - is that the time before intervention seems to be about 15 minutes (it varies ofc). Whereas regulators will need to see FSD operate a car for hundreds of thousands of hours before intervention else it isn’t better than a human.

Sure FSD will be solved for a very big part of all my driving in Europe, but for the upcoming years, maybe even 10years , I definitely will need a steering wheel and pedals. I can't figure which major OEM has the volume to license FSD. Would they license it and sit on it for years? Which OEM can coordinate with their third party manufacturers for a seamless integration of all the systems let alone their internal departments? If I was Mary Barra, I'd be the first in line. I’m looking for a “Mary had a little lamb” moment, or a kitty hawk moment. The first words were the first human recordings on a phonograph by Edison . A chat gpt moment? That thing is interesting, but not mind blowing . Human beings that are sane and skilled are very formidable machines invented by an all powerful God, and we can drive incredibly well when we are not distracted or upset. It’s a big challenge to replicate it. I think the stock going from $17 to $6000, and now down to $2000 makes sence because FSD isn’t here. It might go down to $400 before it rises again. And we don’t know when that will be. I’m not betting the farm on options.

You have been the one who brought me into tsla stock 8 years ago and the small community who believed in Tesla with deep analyses and seeing the potential and getting heard by Tesla as retail investors. A "Robotaxi" can be "a Tesla". That's an *existing* Tesla, with a firmware upgrade. . The "dedicated, purpose built" Taxi? You'll see a working prototype in August. A production candidate at Christmas. At least 1 dedicated Tesla fleet test vehicle on the road within .... 9 months (my guess) Maybe sooner. .
