That's not the point. If you use gasoline, your supporting war for oil, fracking your water supplies, clear cutting and burning down forests for their Ethanol and Biodiesel. And they waste 1 Billion bushels of corn, wheat, soy, sugar and rice burnt in gas tanks as Ethanol. That doubles your price of food. With the $40B in subsidies, that 4X the price of food. To insult to injury, just 30M acres used for Ethanol turned to Solar Panels, would power the entire U.S. all by itself. And, they could use the 30M paid not to grow, the 30M going unused or 30M in an empty desert.

We have a 2022 RWD Model 3 and a 2023 Model X Plaid. The Plaid has white interior and it's just as easy to clean as the black upholstery and it doesn't stain easily. Ultra Red exterior with white interior is awesome. As big as the Model X Plaid is, it not only walks almost any vehicle but often runs away from them. It's not a competition really, nothing is as fast as an EV. I love both ICE and EVs, but you can't knock AWD and 1,000+ hp. Keep up the great content Randy.

Glad you realized that this is actually a Performance... the red line under Dual Motor (esp in the Software menu) says it all... Drag mode options are likely locked out by Tesla for the loaners.

Defo performance model, but remember this is way slower than a plaid. You need to drive around in ICE cars for a while, recalibrate your sense of speed.

I’m a car enthusiast of all types of vehicles but I do certainly love EVs from that enthusiasts perspective. We have solar panels and it’s free for me to daily commute to and from work I drive 20 miles round trip it’s absolutely amazing to just drive by a gas station. I still have a 1998 ford mustang for the weekend and cars and coffee. We have a 2022 Hyundai Kona EV and a 2023 Subaru Solterra EV.

If the “Dual Motor” badge emblem on the trunk is underlined, then its Performance model. If it just says “Dual Motor” and isn’t underlined, then it’s non-Performance. The red color brakes indicate Performance Model also.

I was “against” EVs until I drove a Lucid Air Dream Edition. The air is now by far my favorite new car in general, not just EV. (Edit: Lucid sells a NACS adapter so you can use superchargers)

Unfortunately Lucid runs at much higher voltage than Superchargers can output, so it has to boost the voltage on-board using the "Wunderbox". This means they charge pretty achingly slow on Superchargers. It's still nice to have as a backup, but you wouldn't wanna use it on a road trip unless it was your only option

That model 3 is definitely a performance, the red line under the model 3 badge in the rear of the car and the model 3 logo on the menu screen when you where trying to find info on the car are reserved for the model 3 performance . 0 to 60 = 3.1 seconds

My Model Y Peformance has that Curb rash, the previous owner painted them to hide it. So i bought some 21" rim covers for them. They are great! EV's are for people with certain lifestyles. Some of us don't ride everywhere, sometimes we don't go anywhere for a month.. I don't want something I have to maintain. But it's super easy to just get in it and take a 300 mile trip if you want with 0 issues.

I still love ICE cars but I recently picked up a 2024 Model 3 LR and It's the best daily driver you can possibly get, yes it's an appliance, that's its purpose, but its a fast comfortable appliance that I never have to take to a gas station and I only have to pay $12 a month for "fuel" because we have dirt cheap hydro power here, automatically warms and defrosts for me before I even wake up to go to work, and cools down before I walk out of work all on set schedules. Good enough audio and FSD is great on the highway for long trips. If I had the money I'd throw up solar panels in a none grid tie setup so I can charge the thing on my own power and I'm not reliant on anyone else for the energy I use to drive on a normal basis. Might pick up a pallet of dirt cheap bi-facial solar panels here soon to start the project.

The no Android Auto or Apple Carplay isn't a big deal because Spotify, Apple Music, texting, Google Maps, etc are built right into the screen. The map integrates with charging networks so it automatically adds charging stops when the car needs it, something Android Auto can't do for example.

That white interior would make the car a keeper for me. When I am purposely searching for a different vehicle, number one on my list is either white leather or white premium vinyl for the interior. I have kept my 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible for 32 years because it is in my favorite color combination -- dark blue body, white top and white interior. White interior isn't that difficult to keep if you keep the leather conditioned and cleaned at least quarterly. I also had white top and interior on my 1975 Pontiac Grandville Brougham Convertible that I owned for well over a decade before it was destroyed in a flood in 1993. One of my favorite cars, a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible in medium blue metallic with white top and interior, was with me for more than 30 years when I had to sell it to meet medical expenses. I had not issues keeping the white interiors clean as the leather or vinyl was cleaned and conditioned at least quarterly. The white interiors seem to remain cooler and more comfortable in the summer and comfortably warm in the winter.

So, any electric car that can be charged at home and has enough range is great, our volt runs on electricity only, for months, the model X is for leisure and trips. The vw bus stinks when it’s running or filling the gas tank, but pop open the safaris and lack of electric windows and the computer just don’t matter. Side mirrors on X now point down when in reverse to see the curb, trunk opens automatically when standing behind the trunk and really is cool when you are carrying something with both hands to put in the trunk. Self presenting driver door and brake-to-close never get old.😀

The white interior is great for date night or going to an office for work but just for daily driving I agree, too much trouble to keep clean. Ref the impaired driver, did the cameras on the Plaid get a picture of his license plate? Talk to the trooper that lives next to you, his car is always there when you do videos. Just an observation.

Just had to put a Corvette Z06 in his place the other day while driving my Plaid. Sounded like he had a performance exhaust along with a big rear spoiler and was weaving in and out of traffic showing off. It so happened we pulled up at the red light together. Apparently I agree with you on most subjects. I am a car nut, love the 80s and 90s. I am not bothered by Electric or Gas, I just think Electric is not the answer to our problems right now. I think Electric has issue with Cobalt production using child labor and our electrical grid in the US can not handle all the additional charging right now. Both are cool with me and I would love to ride or drive a Plaid in a straight line. I bet it makes you grin ear to ear like riding in a fast car in high school. What are the 2 diagonal black holes on the rear centre arm rest ? Drivers side top passenger side bottom. Once you see them you can't un-see them. Tesla don't have access to the internal cameras ? I find that very hard to believe. Didn't they already end up in a pile of 'brown' for sharing images captured from the cameras ? I would never buy a tesla for my reasons but i do find them interesting.

I'm 63 years old. I've owned muscle cars, Corvettes and race cars most of my life. I've never owned a Tesla but I don't have a problem with them. I'm as far as you can get from being a tree hugger. I was born and raised in a logging family, but I wouldn't mind owning one for awhile because it would be fun. There are some street legal race cars that would definitely spank a Tesla in a drag race, but not a production car. The exception might be the Demon 170 like you said, but even that car isn't going to run away and leave the Tesla. Period !!! I gotta say, the wheel and tire combination with the wheels sticking out past the sidewall of the tires looks really stupid, but the cars themselves are nice looking...

I just go my 2022 Model 3 Performance with 19k miles my range is 290miles full charge. Paid only 30k car has factory warranty and is mint. Extremely fast car for 30k! Sold my performance turbo car mods are to expensive void warranties no worth it.. Tesla is the ticket for me. Love my Tesla. I beat a scat pack easily! The 2025 Model 3 Performance has 510HP and 0 to 60 in 2.9 vs 3.1 and 22-24 models

The Only tesla I ever drove was a 2020 model 3 , the base model single motor version...I think about 300hp... the acceleration i felt in that was crazy compared to anything else ive driven...a kind of "Point and shoot" car....see a car in the distance, step on it and ur there , just like that.. the other impression was that of it being the Most different car ive ever driven...Utterly Alien in appearance and design compared to anything else you have ever seen... as far as quality and build? the one I drove was tight and rattle free, taut suspension wise ..I didnt see the cheap construction build complaints I hear about these earlier ones and i hear the latest are even Better by a big margin....The main issue I'd have as an owner of one of these is the central mount screen where Everything is controlled and the absense of a driver centered display for more basic info feedback... I dont like the idea of having to take my eyes off the road to navigate a screen...im amazed that alone hasnt caused major accidents.

In most cases when on road trips if in gas or electric you still end up at gas station around same amount of time. If ur in electric pull in plug in. Go bathroom maybe grab a bite to eat. Go outside ur ready to go. If ur in Gass car u stay outside pump gas Go park after u use bathroom grab food and back out to leave. So I really don't see big difference.

My sister had a Mustang convertible with the white leather interior and between the cigarettes and dirt from the top down i would most likely have to put some high quality seat covers on them. I’ve pulled up to help many a driver with things like a fuel door being open or most recently some elderly drivers who had their ebrake on. It’s a pain but it is rewarding. For drunks… I just call the police if someone is doing something that makes me think “are they high or something?” That’s the safest thing to do for everyone including the driver even though I’m not a fan in general of “snitching.” They could be having a medical emergency or simply be a huge danger to themselves and other motorists. Also way more constructive than road raging them.

@@neilmurphy845 you can get a 50amp home charger that will charge the car in like ~6hrs. Unless you’re going in a long trip you really don’t need commercial chargers. I plug mine in at home and schedule it to charge at night while I sleep, once or twice a week.

You also have to remember tasla has like 1000 or more horsepower that’s way more than a scat pack or a hellcat Not only that there is more torque instant torque than any gas power and I’m not really an electric car fan if I had a choice, I’d go EV over electric
