Tesla Model 2: Everything You Need to Know About $24,56K Affordable Car. REDWOOD PROJECT
With a projected price tag of around $24,560, Model 2 Redwood promises to usher in a new era of bringing EVs closer to the mass market. Over the past few weeks, rumors about the Model 2 have spread like wildfire, with reports ranging from factories slated to produce the car to Tesla's top battery supplier confirming a new cell chemistry potentially powering this model. Simultaneously, Tesla faces intense competition from Chinese automakers roaring onto the scene with their own affordable EV offerings.
Tesla Model 2: Everything You Need to Know About $24,56K Affordable Car. REDWOOD PROJECT
So how exactly is the Model 2 being manufactured? What battery tech and performance can we expect from its powertrain? What will the final design entail? And most crucially, why does Tesla need such an aggressively priced combatant in its lineup? We'll unpack everything you need to know about the Tesla Model 2 in today's video.
Tesla Model 2: Everything You Need to Know About $24,56K Affordable Car. REDWOOD PROJECT
When Will the Affordable Tesla Model 2 Hit Production Lines?
Tesla's Gigafactories in Texas, Berlin, and Mexico are expected to manufacture the Model 2. Last fall, Paul Fosse cited four reasons why producing the Model 2 in Texas made sense: Tesla has a wealth of technical talent in Austin that would be difficult to relocate to Mexico; Tesla has encountered no issues obtaining permits in Austin, and construction there has progressed rapidly; Tesla already has critical infrastructure in place in Austin and could test production in an existing building; and the company could quickly erect a "tent" structure if more space is needed, as it did previously in Fremont.

We did first Test drive, it was kind of difficult, as it was my first time in EV. Forgot how to use FSD, back to dealership, handed back key card. A young guy asked how did you feel. ,( not the one gave us key). I told him that I didn't try FSD, which was why we here. He told me that having another try, and walked with us to car to tell us how. We did second test drive, and used FSD to drive back. It was amazing. My wife and I both know this car is future, so, we went back, to that guy gives us key, told him that we want to buy one. We decided have same color with 4RUNNER (white), I loaded app to my cell phone, complete purchasing, and we also selected purchasing FSD packages with full price. When we back to home, we realized that we forgot talking about trade in. LOL, we have picked MYLR a week ago, drove 102 KM back to home from dealership. Because busy on work, we just tried FSD after celebrating cameras yesterday. It was great and I will just sell that 4RUNNER wherever people will take. (Maybe $5,000 below market value)

Wait a minute! Hold up!! Tesla is supposed to be improving the EV!! Tesla came out with EVs that you have to plug in and sit 20 to 30 minutes and all for a short and shitty range of up to 300 to 350 miles of range, give ar take. With the model 2, range is not improved but decreased with an even shorter range of only 250 miles. Are you serious? Not including other mid range travels and countless short range travels, my long range travels amount to over 7000 miles a year. I can't use the EV. I would love to by an EV but they must first be improved. As a man of the large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make, EVs are absolutely not for the long distance traveler. Now china has improved the EV. BYDs provides a range of over 620 miles and Zeekr has a range of 641 miles. But just like highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric) these new and improved EVs are not available in the United States of America or i would definitely have a Zeekr in my driveway right now! If china can come out with an EVs like this, so can the United States of America. It would definitely give the American EV owners a real reason to boast the EV. With 3 minutes of down times to fuel, (once a month) and for a range of 570 miles which supersedes any EV in America, paid off at 41K and more than a pleasure to drive. I'll keep the large full size luxurious Jaguar XJL and leave well enough alone. But improve the EV with these fine qualities and improvements, Shit, Now we're talkin!!! Now, we are talkin.. i would be the first one at the gates to buy one immediately. I need the ability to keep moving, not available in an EV. Come on mr Elon Musk and use you brilliant mind and provide the American people with real EVs. Then i can finally buy one......

@@adamtech999 Lol!! See that's the thing. I have been waiting 3 years now. Ever since i decided to upgrade from a range of 408 miles with my Buick Lacrosse hybrid. With no luck in finding any EV that was greater in range, i brought my jaguar XJl which was able to provide me with the upgrades i needed. 3 and a half years later at this time, im still waiting. I remember when the good people at Tesla in Philadelphia Pennsylvania told me quote, "Have patience because that day is coming." Sofar, nothing and the only real improvements in shorter downtimes for charging and longer ranges are found in EVs made in china. But unfortunately not available in the United States. So i will continue to wait with patients...

Not including other mid range travels and countless short range travels, my long distance traveling alone amounts to over 7,000 miles a year. Before i even buy an EV, they must first be improved with shorter down times and long range. If china can develop EVs with 15 minutes of charging for a range of over 600 miles, the mighty United States of America can do the same thing. Now this is the kind of EV im waiting for. This would give the American EV owners a real reason to boast the EV. But nope! The American people have to settle for less. With plugging in and haveing to sit and stay awhile and all for a short and shitty range, the EV is something I just can't use. With being a man of the large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make, I brought the large full size luxurious Jaguar XJL. When im not over the road, it takes me 3 minutes to fuel, (once a month) and for a range of 570 miles which supersedes any EV in America. Paid off at 41K and more than a pleasure to drive. Now when Tesla comes out with an EV with these fine qualities and improvements, shit now we're talkin!!! I would be the first one at the gates to buy one immediately. I have absolutely nothing against the EV and im all in once they improve them. Till then like most americans, i want nothing to do with EVs. I can't use it. I'll simply leave well enough alone...BYDs has a range that exceeds 620 miles and the Zeeker has a range of 641 miles. Unfortunately like highspeed bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric), these advanced, real EVs are not available in the United States of America or i would have a Zeekr sitting in my driveway right now. Come on mr Elon Musk. Use your brilliant mind and improve the EV....

Model 2's $25,000 means 40%-50% less profit. Shareholders will not be happy. Using Chinese batteries means laying off Tesla workers that produce 4680 batteries. Expect more layoffs.

Right now, Tesla still needs people to produce 4680 batteries for the Cybertruck. The demand for this pickup EV can't be met in just 3 or 4 years. And selling cheap products doesn't necessarily mean less profit-it's just basic marketing 101.

It's not fun if the whole world drives the same car. The government should assist other EV companies on the rise to come up. I like Tesla but if every where u look u see the same car that's not fun. I wanna see other car companies just as much as I see Teslas. Aptera has been trying to get off the ground like for ever. Y is it soo difficult. I don't wish for Tesla to win every market.
@adamtech999
@adamtech999 Ай бұрын
The government already has policies in place to promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs). However, the challenge lies in how EV manufacturers can adapt to the market. Some manufacturers don't provide sufficient charging infrastructure, others produce vehicles that are too expensive, and some have yet to deliver on their promises, with their cars remaining in the concept stage. I like Aptera's three-wheel design, but it deviates significantly from traditional designs, which may not appeal to everyone. Given your concerns, I suggest waiting and observing how the market evolves. Ultimately, it will favor those who fully commit to protecting and advancing it.

@@adamtech999 yes they do but it's not as easy as you think. Do u know how.many ev start ups folded up in the last two years that never got off the ground. Some stopped making evs and went a total different route. It's the old car companies that are already established that are still dominating making evs besides Tesla. The new ones are struggling. Lucid, ocean and rivian...I want new believe me but even with the help from government there's a lot that goes on in the back end that makes it difficult..Chinese ev makers have a stronger chance of dominating the American market than the above mentioned because besides Tesla the only company the mainstream praises is Chinese EV manufacturers they mention a few like lucid here and there but that's it.

Ummm, the model 2 has been cancelled! He wasted so much money developing a POS truck. That he's now moving on to robo taxis. And for those of you who think you're gonna have full self driving on your current teslas, don't hold your breath. Never gonna happen without lidar sensors. Which is why he just invested a ton of money in luminar which is a massive lidar sensor company that every other car company invested in years ago. Because you will never have class 3 and class 5 autonomy, without lidar. It only took Elon a decade to finally come to terms with that..
