I’m a long term model 3 owner. Something to keep in mind with the vinyl seats. NEVER use leather cleaners or multi surface cleaners to wipe these trims. Hello from Japan! Really appreciate your video. I've been looking for an honest and thorough review of Model 3 2024 for several days, and I'm glad I finally found one! I watched every second of it and you covered everything I needed to know; and with a calm voice, as everyone commented :D Thanks to you, I'm now more confident and decided M3 would be my first car. I agree with the battery comparison between RWD and LR because it's scientifically true if we treat LFP and NMC the same way to 100%. LFP is also superior in terms of safety. But at the end of the day, we shouldn't think about it too much and go with the best practice of treating the battery no matter which model we choose. Cheers! :)

I really appreciate your review and your calm demeanor while doing. It's very relaxing and informative. However, I would just like to point out, that while I agree that the Tesla Model 3 doesn't compete in the same luxury segment as some other brands. I can greatly appreciate what they are offering as standard equipment for the price. Sometimes as far as features are concerned, they do something weird (like removing the stalks), but overall I think they are great cars with a ton of features as standard.
@obiwan0079 ай бұрын
I think the M3H can definitely compete with cars 10k more expensive. Like the VW ID5 and entry level Audi. You just have to like the very clean interiour. Feature wise the competition has a huge job to keep up and sometimes get on par. The sign recognition of Tesla is very very bad. My old ID.3 did a way better job there. Hope Tesla can update this soon. The wiper automatic is an annoyance too. Not an issue if you live in sunny locations... Not all what Tesla is doing is good - but overall it is the best package for this pricetag (and way above that).
@ProXcaliber9 ай бұрын
@@obiwan007 I’d argue that because Tesla is offering so much as standard, it’s slowly forcing other car brands to put more stuff into their cars as standard to compete. Which in the end really benefits the buyer.

Decent review 👍.. Theres some misconceptions you've obviously picked up from negitive press directed at EVs and Tesla. 1. Weight. The weigh range is no more than the ICE BMW 3 series. No one ever mentions weight when driving those. Related to that is 2. Tyre wear. Ive got a model 3 long range with 29k miles still have 5mm left all round on original tyres and i dont drive slowly. Thats 45k miles per set. Ive owned slower ice cars that needed tyres before 25k miles. 3. Cost cutting. If its not needed it aint cost cutting. The only things i miss from previous vehicles ive owned is a heated steering wheel as mine is an early 2020 model 3. And the only thing i wish Tesla added is a powered frunk on the new model. Im getting an overnight test drive of the new Model 3 tomorrow so looking forward to experiencing the improvements made over my model.

The 360 camera missing is not about Tesla being “cheap”, the HDR 5MP cameras around the car is more expensive than the 720P cameras you find in normal cars. Tesla’s strategy is to use computer vision to map and generate the surroundings in 3D and accomplish the simple duty as a backup camera with the ultimate goal of facilitating advance maneuvers in autopilot.

Tire thing is a myth when it comes to Model 3. Weight of a Model 3 is same as BMW 3 series. It is false to say Model 3 is extra heavy. Extra torque maybe, but tire wear for most Model 3 owners is same as normal vehicles. There are electric vehicle tires which is more about sound. The new Model 3 had tires designed for it. I own a 2023 Model 3 RWD and after 10,000 miles still not seeing signs of rapid wear.
@ProXcaliber10 ай бұрын
Yep, it also has to do with the driver as well. If the driver is the kind of person who floors it off every stop, then of course the tires will wear much faster. Another important part is doing tire rotations at least every 6 months, so they wear more evenly. Just those two things alone will make tires last 10s of thousands of miles.

Why do people care so much about these panel gaps, they really aren't anything bad at all they don't let water in they don't result in any bad things. Such a bummer that people go on complaining about how much milimiters they put between one piece of the door and the other. If you re going to complain about something, at least complain about something that actually is bad
@navigator211310 ай бұрын
@@Williamprasemprethat is bad considering no other manufacturer has that issue yet it haunts Teslas lol.
@ProXcaliber10 ай бұрын
@@navigator2113 No, that is simply not the case. Plenty of other cars have similar issues, and a lot of them happen during transport to dealers. The difference here is that dealers will often look over the cars once the sale is complete and then hand you the keys, as a sanity check. With Tesla's method, where they have no dealers and everything is done online and all you have to do is show up and pickup the car, they don't really do this. I agree that they should do a once over, before you take delivery, but I typically have found that the delivery centers are pretty busy. This is why a lot of people tend to encourage new Tesla owners to take a look at various parts of the car on delivery day to make sure there isn't anything that bothers them personally. As that is the best time to address the issue so they can fix it for you for free. Keep in mind, where you might spend hours at a regular dealer to do the entire buying process, the Tesla delivery experience is MUCH different. You can be at the delivery center for less than 10 to 20 minutes, as all you have to do is confirm paperwork and sign a few papers. This means, you should take at least an extra 10 to 15 minutes to look over the car and report any issues before you drive off.

@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! The sound system is vastly improved from the previous Model 3 as they introduced the subwoofer on the SR model (9 Speakers). The LR Model has a much better sound system with 17 speakers. My most recent 2 BMWs had only the mid-tier sound systems, but the 325i (E92) Coupe had the Logic 7 Speaker setup. To compare with my most recent (X3 and E90), it is definitely punchy - the bass is good, but I feel the mids and highs are a bit lacking (probably solved in the LR model) Compared with the E92, I think this (the SR model) is definitely quite a bit behind - if sound is an important factor, I'd recommend checking out the LR model.

Awesome! I hope it goes well - remember that I have a referral link in the description of the video - if you purchase it, you get to try Enhanced Autopilot for up to 3 months for free (you can always purchase EAP or FSD later in the app after you get the car - so you don't need to get it at check-out, especially if you get to test it to see if you like it) In terms of the watch, that's so interesting! I'm a lefty and have always worn watches on my right hand. Usually watches that have crowns on the left side (e.g. Sprite) cause the crown to dig into the top of my hand, the crown never digs into my arm, surprisingly enough... I've tried wearing watches with right-sided crowns on my left hand to see if this also happens and yes, I also get crown digging into top of the hand - maybe I just tilt my arms a lot? 🤷

Great review! One question regarding the different types of batteries for SR and LY. If you can charge the SR battery up to 100 % and the LR battery only to 80 % on a regular basis - is the effective range between the two types not almost the same? Hence making the LR a bit obsolete?
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
This is a really good question. I'm not sure as I will have to drive the LR and experience it day-to-day to be sure, BUT the one advantage of the LR is that it charges faster than the SR (due to the NMC batteries) - and if you're gonna be doing a spontaneous trip, you're more likely to have slightly more range than the SR at any given time (assuming you have similar driving patterns). But yes, I think from a practicality perspective, I think the LR doesn't have much edge over the SR in terms of daily range (if your commutes are short - especially so if your commutes aren't high speed - as highway speeds kill the range)
@Eierfeile9 ай бұрын
@@europeinatesla Thanks for your insight. Other advantage of the LR that might come into play are better acceleration and the 4WD. But you can purchase the acceleration boost via App for the SR, no? Also I know from the previous generation that were some other "hidden" additional perks like seat heating, steering wheel heating, better audio system. Dont know if some of that still applies for the new generation.
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
I don't think acceleration boost is available for the SR, that's only for the LR model. In terms of "hidden perks", the main difference that I know of is the 17 speaker system in the LR vs the 9. The new SR model comes with steering wheel heating, seat COOLING and heating (new) as well - so I think besides 4WD and sound system, it's the same. Perhaps do a comparison with the BYD Seal. I nearly purchased a Seal, but it has lower ground clearance than most vehicle, so I was guaranteed to damage the front bumper on steep driveways etc. Had to cancel my order. I've ordered a Model 3 AWD.

Great video! Where did you purchase your phone mount from?

Amazon - SmallRig is the brand - you can also buy it from their official site

1 correction and 1 addition to your review: - Your model are able to charge at 170kWh on a V3 supercharger - You’re able to adjust the windshield wipers speed by pushing the small left wheel on the steering wheel left or right Keep up with your calm and nice reviews 👌

I’ve never seen it charge at 170kWh - how do I tell if it’s a V3 supercharger? Ah yes, I hardly use that hold down button - I should use it more 😅 - thank you!
@Mauro.Coelho10 ай бұрын
The easiest way to tell if it's a V3 supercharger is that a V3 only has one connector instead of two like the one in the video. In Portugal, the only V3 available is located in Mar Shopping in Loulé. To reach the peak of 170 kWh you have to get there with the battery preconditioned and in a low state of charge.

@@Mauro.CoelhoAh - thank you! Yes I actually do go to MAR Shopping quite frequently - I'll try next time with lower charge.

Nice that you recieve the UMC, Type 2 cable and the safety kit with the vehicle.... In Australia we get nothing. Has to all be purchased seperately.

Same like in the USA

I think it's due to EU laws. I mean, if you think about it - it's like Apple removing the charging cable entirely when you buy a new phone :P Although, not sure about AUS, but the car IS cheaper in the US so....

i am kinda curious why would u buy enhanced autopilot instead of using that money to buy the long range car? i figured having more range would be more useful than than auto pilot also for the cost cutting measure companies can save a lot of money. for example lets say a sensor cost $1. now thats not a lot of money but if they make a million cars then they have to spend a million dollars just on sensors alone and then when u add the cost of other components it gets even more expensive. basically by not adding these parts companies can save millions or even billions of dollars

Enhanced Autopilot in EU is only €3800, LR is €9000. I wasn’t actually aware that the EU EAP was different to the US one 😅… Yeah, I fully concur - but usually you take something away and replace it with something else - in Teslas case, I think with the spare tyre, they didn’t think that having any sort of backup for the customer matters 😅 - as for the sensors, thank goodness they managed to get Tesla Vision up and running, and I hadn’t waited too long without it. I can’t imagine having bought the car in late 2022 and waiting a whole year to get the improved Tesla Vision without USS

Can you do a comparison with the ioniq 6?

Surprised to see the brake lights on the trunk lid. That isn't allowed in the US in case you are driving with something big in the trunk and need to have the lid open.
@nicholasmuni79959 ай бұрын
It's not allowed in the US but Tesla doesn't count.

There are lights on the rear bumper that engage if the trunk/boot is open, to meet regulatory requirements. Quite a few cars do this.

I'm glad they got rid of the fog lights. They're of marginal use, and most people where I live (US) misuse them anyway, resulting in a lot of extraneous glare for incoming drivers.
@alphagodvon10 ай бұрын
The fog lights are built into the headlights now .

I actually got stuck in an area of heavy fog for hours on the way to Colorado from Oregon in December and the fog lights on my 2019 Model 3 were *awesome*. You can't just redirect LEDs from the main higher mounted lights and get performance as good as lower mounted lights in real fog. The trick is to shine the light as low as possible to minimize the blinding reflection back that limits visibility
