I’m a long term model 3 owner. Something to keep in mind with the vinyl seats. NEVER use leather cleaners or multi surface cleaners to wipe these trims. Use a regular damp cloth or a sprayer with regular water to clean the interior. Using chemicals will alter the finish of the vinyl and make it shiny over time

I really appreciate your review and your calm demeanor while doing. It's very relaxing and informative. However, I would just like to point out, that while I agree that the Tesla Model 3 doesn't compete in the same luxury segment as some other brands. I can greatly appreciate what they are offering as standard equipment for the price. Sometimes as far as features are concerned, they do something weird (like removing the stalks), but overall I think they are great cars with a ton of features as standard.
@obiwan007
@obiwan007 8 ай бұрын
I think the M3H can definitely compete with cars 10k more expensive. Like the VW ID5 and entry level Audi. You just have to like the very clean interiour. Feature wise the competition has a huge job to keep up and sometimes get on par. The sign recognition of Tesla is very very bad. My old ID.3 did a way better job there. Hope Tesla can update this soon. The wiper automatic is an annoyance too. Not an issue if you live in sunny locations... Not all what Tesla is doing is good - but overall it is the best package for this pricetag (and way above that).
@ProXcaliber
@ProXcaliber 8 ай бұрын
@@obiwan007 I’d argue that because Tesla is offering so much as standard, it’s slowly forcing other car brands to put more stuff into their cars as standard to compete. Which in the end really benefits the buyer.

Hello from Japan! Really appreciate your video. I've been looking for an honest and thorough review of Model 3 2024 for several days, and I'm glad I finally found one! I watched every second of it and you covered everything I needed to know; and with a calm voice, as everyone commented :D Thanks to you, I'm now more confident and decided M3 would be my first car. I agree with the battery comparison between RWD and LR because it's scientifically true if we treat LFP and NMC the same way to 100%. LFP is also superior in terms of safety. But at the end of the day, we shouldn't think about it too much and go with the best practice of treating the battery no matter which model we choose. Cheers! :)

Tire thing is a myth when it comes to Model 3. Weight of a Model 3 is same as BMW 3 series. It is false to say Model 3 is extra heavy. Extra torque maybe, but tire wear for most Model 3 owners is same as normal vehicles. There are electric vehicle tires which is more about sound. The new Model 3 had tires designed for it. I own a 2023 Model 3 RWD and after 10,000 miles still not seeing signs of rapid wear.
@ProXcaliber
@ProXcaliber 8 ай бұрын
Yep, it also has to do with the driver as well. If the driver is the kind of person who floors it off every stop, then of course the tires will wear much faster. Another important part is doing tire rotations at least every 6 months, so they wear more evenly. Just those two things alone will make tires last 10s of thousands of miles.

Had more trouble with the turn signals on the Highland than I thought I would. In the Highland, it's a button on the steering wheel and on the S it's on the steering wheel but it's more touch sensitive and you can swipe it on the S.

i am kinda curious why would u buy enhanced autopilot instead of using that money to buy the long range car? i figured having more range would be more useful than than auto pilot also for the cost cutting measure companies can save a lot of money. for example lets say a sensor cost $1. now thats not a lot of money but if they make a million cars then they have to spend a million dollars just on sensors alone and then when u add the cost of other components it gets even more expensive. basically by not adding these parts companies can save millions or even billions of dollars
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 8 ай бұрын
Enhanced Autopilot in EU is only €3800, LR is €9000. I wasn’t actually aware that the EU EAP was different to the US one 😅… Yeah, I fully concur - but usually you take something away and replace it with something else - in Teslas case, I think with the spare tyre, they didn’t think that having any sort of backup for the customer matters 😅 - as for the sensors, thank goodness they managed to get Tesla Vision up and running, and I hadn’t waited too long without it. I can’t imagine having bought the car in late 2022 and waiting a whole year to get the improved Tesla Vision without USS

The lack of stalks is a deal breaker for me. The indicators on the steering wheel is just silly. How am I supposed to indicate, flash my lights, adjust my intermittent wipers, adjust the cruise control, wash/wipe the front/rear screen (if it has one)? It's just a personal fetish from Elon that doesn't sit with general buyers of the car.
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 8 ай бұрын
so the indicators on the wheel is the only thing I have an actual issue (or rather, "learning curve") with, the other stuff - flashing your lights and adjusting the wipers - there's a button on the wheel to flash your lights, for the wipers - I have now found out that if you press the wiper button, you can use the scroll on the left to change the settings (and wash the front windscreen). Cruise Control (Autopilot) adjustment has always been the right scroll wheel - pressing the wheel in to activate and scrolling up and down to adjust speed.

Thank you - it is quite quiet - I can't compare directly with the previous Model 3 right now, but at 80mph, it is definitely pretty quiet (obviously not silent). But definitely not as if a window was open...

The audio is relatively good - the bass is quite punchy due to the addition of the subwoofer, I feel like the mids and mid-highs are a bit lacking though. I'll make a video when I can compare with an LR model

Does anyone know if you can remove the black plastic aerodynamic pieces from the upgraded rim/tire? I am not referring to the aerodynamic hubcap on the stock tire. I’m referring to the upgraded tires.

I’ve seen that you can remove them but have yet to see any photos of the rim without them.

Thanx for the review...please add chapters to your videos. Also, the title of you video doesn't match the video, what's your honest review? The video is a review of the car, not what you think about the car after having it for 2 months.

Great review! One question regarding the different types of batteries for SR and LY. If you can charge the SR battery up to 100 % and the LR battery only to 80 % on a regular basis - is the effective range between the two types not almost the same? Hence making the LR a bit obsolete?
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 7 ай бұрын
This is a really good question. I'm not sure as I will have to drive the LR and experience it day-to-day to be sure, BUT the one advantage of the LR is that it charges faster than the SR (due to the NMC batteries) - and if you're gonna be doing a spontaneous trip, you're more likely to have slightly more range than the SR at any given time (assuming you have similar driving patterns). But yes, I think from a practicality perspective, I think the LR doesn't have much edge over the SR in terms of daily range (if your commutes are short - especially so if your commutes aren't high speed - as highway speeds kill the range)
@Eierfeile
@Eierfeile 7 ай бұрын
@@europeinatesla Thanks for your insight. Other advantage of the LR that might come into play are better acceleration and the 4WD. But you can purchase the acceleration boost via App for the SR, no? Also I know from the previous generation that were some other "hidden" additional perks like seat heating, steering wheel heating, better audio system. Dont know if some of that still applies for the new generation.
@europeinatesla
@europeinatesla 7 ай бұрын
I don't think acceleration boost is available for the SR, that's only for the LR model. In terms of "hidden perks", the main difference that I know of is the 17 speaker system in the LR vs the 9. The new SR model comes with steering wheel heating, seat COOLING and heating (new) as well - so I think besides 4WD and sound system, it's the same. Check out my new video where I outline the climate control options and go into a bit more detail about the car kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6Gtl3ijgpaUfMk

Tesla's FSD is based on images but they still use Radeon RX Vega which is 6 years old why didn't Tesla update to RDNA graphics why doesn't Tesla use LiDAR sensors, these are, from what I understand, significantly better than cameras, the absolute best is a mix between these two systems with the new LiDAR sensors, you can create a very accurate 3-D map that is much more accurate than with cameras for example, as a drone that can see structures hidden in dense forest with these LiDAR sensors, no camera can do this why Tesla for some reason is a big opponent to LiDAR sensors I do not understand and it becomes even more strange when Tesla is the only car brand that does not have LiDAR sensors
@climatenomad
@climatenomad 7 ай бұрын
almost everyone who promoted LiDAR has indicated they are switching away to the Tesla strategy. You have to be able to process the information coming in and with LiDAR there is (apparently) too much to integrate in real time vs. vision only so it ends up being worse with reasonable amounts of hardware

@@climatenomad from what I can see of our cars at work, over 180 of different brands, it's the other way around we change cars every 3 years and the newer cars have many more LiDAR sensors the newer the car is Tesla has more and more problems with its cameras the more advanced the FSD becomes and they are sensitive to snow, etc
@climatenomad
@climatenomad 7 ай бұрын
Interesting. Can you name a current car that integrates lidar to attempt full self driving - for example in a city environment? I don't know of a single example commercially available worldwide. There seem to be high end research cars with massive computing power onboard using lidar for this but in terms of commercially available consumer cars with practical levels of computing onboard currently: none. I've seen inclusion of lidar sensors on cars in China that have no real FSD available and then there is Mercedes which has a very restricted patchwork of self driving which includes lidar sensors to some non-publicly defined degreee (again not in complicated scenarios). I'm open to counter examples from your list of "180 different brands". Also saying Tesla FSD is based on "images" seems misleading. It is based on videos in the current iteration and of course all videos are just streams of images so it is kind of irrelevant framing. What is more accurate is to say it is vision based. They process streaming camera content into a 360 virtual environment with actual spatial math model including object identification, vector motion and predictions of possible future actions for objects. Changing cars every three years doesn't really affect the quality of FSD much either since it is mostly about software and not hardware. Tesla who is the undisputed leader in FSD has not been significantly adding new sensors (there is a bumper camera to improve certain scenarios coming out at some point). My 2019 Tesla Model 3 with FSD has the same self driving capability as a 2024 for that reason and it has gotten better and better. Hardware is easy to add physically but what's hard is doing the actual FSD which is *software*. Incidentally I drive in the snowy areas of the Colorado mountains and over a year ago it was able to navigate a snow blown highway, stop at a light, yield to oncoming traffic before turning and going through the ice and snow covered roundabout with traffic. That was the most impressive achievement I've seen to date. It is far from perfect but far ahead of any competitor on actual full self driving as a goal in the real world. Will it ever be accepted by people for their everyday driving in all conditions? Not sure. By the way you state that all cars are Lidar equipped except Tesla is also not even close to true. Your reference to Radeon graphics card being used for FSD is also false. Tesla uses custom in-house designed FSD chips (two for redundancy). They don't use a commercial general purpose graphics card for FSD

@@climatenomad Here in Europe, the Tesla FSD is not as good as in the US, but it is only a matter of time before Tesla becomes as good in Europe in answer to your question, here are 2 completely different technologies and they share the place so Tesla is not light years from its competitors and as I said a combination of LiDAR and cameras would have given the best results Audi with LiDAR got the same rating as Tesla with cameras kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppacn4h6iM1gisksi=jcHWBkpZP_saODzv

@@6XCcustom I watched the test in your linked video and the reviewer awarded Tesla with Autosteer the win which doesn't exactly agree with your points. Also there are lots more tests that could have been done that are more complicated, and I strongly suspect the Tesla would have pulled out an even bigger lead. The reviewer probably wanted to use simple scenarios in order to be able to test all the cars with simpler systems. Our original discussion was about whether or not Tesla had the best full self driving and whether they needed to catch up to others that were all using Lidar. Well in your linked video, none of the cars had full self driving, none were called out as having Lidar (although some might have like you mention) and none of their simple tests were complicated enough to test Lidar relevant scenarios. Where was the test for what happens when people merge (a very common harder scenario)? Do you have any personal experience or knowledge of Tesla's Full Self Driving? Sounds like no. Audi doesn't even have general FSD technology available at all - in fact to my knowledge no other commercial car manufacturer is even attempting it. By the way, the software for full self driving is completely different than simple Autosteer in Tesla. You can't extrapolate the simple Autosteer to what happens in the different Full Self Driving
