Will you follow up with an answer from the manufacturer. I like the covers on your wheels in the corner

Hi Michael. I asked the manufacturer already, and she indicated that they would have a look. I sent annotated pictures of the dimensions and where the spaces were. She indicated that this was news to them, as they have not received any notes of concern from a couple of hundred other purchasers. The mats were perfectly cut, just not quite as wide as I would like, so it didn't seem like it was an error in production. Maybe I am more picky than most. :) It's not the greatest answer for you, I realize, but maybe have a look in your back seat, and just picture what the 2cm would mean to you. Are the original mats also 2cm less than the width of the floor on either side? I borrowed the M3 (I have an MX), and it was not provided to me with the original mats for me to compare. Thanks for your comment on the wheels, which are form my MX100D. The covers are very nice to have. I found when I mop the floor the wheels are a pain to mop around. So, I purchased the TruStack Tire Dolly (trustacktiredolly.com) on which you see them sitting, and I must say, that addition was a game-changer. It's really nice to be able to move them so easily. The MX wheels are not light, so throwing 4 around just to mop the floor is a bother. :)

Mats that fit well are always hit or miss. I’ve seen worse. Most important is the material that the mats are made of. In the winter, rubber mats get stiff and really slippery. Do they make frunk and trunk mats as well? I like the way the “spikes” grab the carpet. I’d consider getting these mats next fall.

Good points! These are made of PVC. I’m not sure whether these would be slippery. Maybe.

The ones I mentioned with spikes were the ToughPro mats. They are a pain for the trunk mat, because of the trunk cover board. When you want to access the lower compartment, you have to roll back the mat. It’s inflexible and spiky, so not ideal.
