I have a 2021 Long Range Model 3 with Accel Boost. Difference between Performance and Long Range + AB is about .20 in 0-60mph and quarter mile. The 3.1* sec Performance is rated as 1' roll out. If you look at your draggy for your faster times you were hitting 3.3 sec with accel boost as your 1' rollout. The Performance models are sold with 1' roll outs compared to standard and long range models. The Performance quarter mile hits around 11.55 on average and LR + AB is around 11.75. The Performance sees that .20 faster time from 0-30 mph, but from 30+ mph they are neck and neck, in fact most times the LR with Accel Boost will finish the quarter mile at faster speeds in many cases.

"The car can already do it. Why should I pay?" I mean while it IS just a software unlock, I justified it as an extension to the powertrain warranty. You're running the motors and battery at a higher spec, meaning they can't guarantee the same results as the lower spec. But for 0-30, it's practically a must for a Model Y. Without it, the 0-30 range is a little..."waiting to wind up" or something.

Remember that most car magazines and manufacturers report the 1 foot rollout time for 0-60 runs. Tesla also quotes this (faster) time for the performance model 3 and plaid model x and s. The fastest 1 foot rollout time you got was 3.39 seconds! A performance model 3 does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds with 1 foot (this is the claimed time. It is more like 3.2 in most cases). This means you are really, really close to the performance after this boost. It’s tricky how tesla uses different performance measurements for different cars to make the performance models seem faster…

Here is some advice to you: * You must have the SAME STATE of CHARGE when comparing speed * Have the car PRECONDITIONED before you will do the test * Have every test for 5 minutes (or more) per run, so the motor can breath * Use the same track and time as possible * The pressure in every acceleration must be at the same level & intensity iF you can't do all those 5 very important pointers because of the weather or any circumstances, do NOT do it and schedule it NEXT TIME. (By the way, I have an S & X, and even though I don't have a KZbin channel, I did all the things I said and it shows that getting the Boost makes your car faster than the base speed from the factory) Have a great day to y'all!

I hope you’re proud of yourself, but I can’t be too hard on you, because, it’s exactly what I would have done too, in my youth that is, when like you, I thought performance was something I needed. So now that I am older, I no longer have that need for speed, and my dual motor long range battery pack Tesla Model 3 has all the punch, I will ever need, let alone actually use. Cheers 🥂

@@BeardedTeslaGuy Touché! That’s because we guys don’t listen to our significant others, and they keep telling us that we don’t listen, and we don’t listen, when they tell us we don’t listen, because we were born with a deficiency an inability to listen, it’s something that every school system should start teaching young boys early in life, to listen to instruction, particularly instruction, that’s being given to you by a member of the opposite sex, as it might be, the thing that saves your relationship with your significant other, and may actually save your life, as young men are woefully ill-equipped to take care of themselves, and most sadly don’t make it. Cheers this one’s for you. 🍻

Maybe a stupid question but... does this follows the car? For instance if I sell the car?

Ah the point about ride quality…. I actually prefer the ride on the MYP when compared to the MYLR

I'm considering it on my 22 M3LR. I don't care about 0-60 so much, so how does the boost feel at 40-50mph city speeds as well as highway speeds? Is the boost still very noticeable and punchy and worth the 2k if "at speed" is all I care about?
@ryancrandall61248 ай бұрын
Does acceleration boost stay with vehicle when you sell/trade it in? Is there any added value when selling?
@endguardianabuse681723 күн бұрын
It stays with the car. As far as adding value that would be up to the person purchasing the car. It may not be an added value for that person. And if it affects the range much it could be a deterrent to some people but I'm sure there's somebody out there that would be added value

I don’t know where got got your numbers. MYLR has always been listed as 4.8 0-60 every time I’ve looked at the website. What I learned today is that my car is already faster 0-60 than I thought. …and my current 12.688 1/4 mile could go below 12.0 seconds with the boost!

Fun stuff, monitor your battery degradation over the next 6 months....i have noticed a degradation on mine after getting the boost. If u see the same please share in a video.

@BeardedTeslaGuy Жыл бұрын
lol, I dont think this will by itself degrade the battery.
@louisolivierfortin Жыл бұрын
Using any electric car will degrade the battery. If you floor it everywhere with a stock LR battery degradation will be worse than someone with AB that floors it only occasionally

when you sell or trade in the car. does the speed boost give you ability to ask 1k more or so?
@sludog Жыл бұрын
Go to Toro and rent a Model S Plaid and run the same test. Make sure the owner doesn't have chill mode locked in. Warning.....you will be sore for a few days after those runs. 2 second 0-60 is breathtaking and back breaking. The silent acceleration is what makes teslas so scary when they are floored. lol

Another thing you could try is a range test after you upgrade to the performance package to see if range suffers. I gave a like just for the Wife comment. lol
