Tesla Model 3 Performance Shakedown on Genting - The Silence is Deafening / YS Khong Driving

We are really getting more and more EV's to check out, and this time it is a grey imported Tesla 3 Performance variant.
One thing is for sure - the sound-speed sensation we are used to with normal ICE cars is something we have to discard when driving an EV fast. We now have to depend on visual sensation to judge speed, and one must remember to brake hard enough to slow down enough for the upcoming corners.

Read some sceptical comments and most of which from those who doesn't even own one. To me, as much as I'm accustomed to ICE, EV is the future, it is here now and we should start to explore. Don't worry people, just visit the showroom, test drive one and can guarantee you'll be amazed. You will never know what a car capable of until you apply loan, loan approved, car arrive, you drive it daily. You naik Genting and bump into a GTR, Ferrari, Gallardo, Maserati, G-Wagon ect... you just smile and overtake at ease, how about that? From the vid itself i can feel the smoothness of the acceleration, and is a very fast car. Just that the screen is too big and distracting. And really need a speedmeter for reference and nostalgic. Other than that, it does look really good

At the top if I remember correctly, it was 44 percent. Going down, with all the recovery, it was 42 when we got back to the city. This was a sedan, so the feeling was different. The Kia EV6 was a SUV, but surprisingly it was fun too. All the weight for EVs is low down, so the all gemerally handle well.

The screen is a dangerous menace! It should be illegal for important controls like signalling indicators to be there. In town driving with pedestrians and many vehicles you cannot concentrate on the road conditions if you have to try and find controls.

@@YSKhongDriving I think the imperfection gives the road character. Each corner has it's own story. Same corner can give different approach depending on the driver's intention. The bumps can give the suspension and driver's skill a good workout.

It still is one of the safest roads for us. As you know, the country is recovering from the pandemic, so ee have to be patient and wait for the road to slowly improve. As for me I am very thankful that there is such a great road for us to check out cars. There is no equal in the workd for this road. In terms of the maintenance rate, I think roads up to Genting are ones of the well maintained roads in the country. The frequency of repaving the whole route is one of the highest in the country.

Usually we go slow downhill, except for the one part where we do the slalom bit. If there are cars there, then we slow down. If you don't see a short tiktok, that means the road was crowded.
