"Granny Charging" is underrated. We do this every day at home (Coincidentally in the SW of France, an hour South of where you were). The petrol equivalent is having someone filling your car with petrol overnight whilst you sleep. Waking up to a full "fuel tank" every day is a real luxury .... and costs about €3

Great video Steve! We did a bit over 2.500 miles in our Model 3 dual motor last month, from Finland to Luxemburg and back. Supercharger network was superb, not a single hiccup. I don't think I would do that trip in any other EV than a Tesla.

Agreed. Zero planning for long journeys with a Tesla. 👍🏽

Really nice video, mate. Nice presentation style, and I cracked up at your "This is why I got kicked out of MI6". :D Last year I took my Model S 100D all around Central Europe. Got to Budapest in Hungary before turning back and returning to blighty. I'm convinced that driving on the continent works better on these cars as they're designed for LHD. RHD always feels a bit of an afterthought (see the delay with the 2022 Model S). I now have a Model Y Performance, and you're right - standard Autopilot is all you need. I had EAP before, and the dealership told me to keep my money! :D

Thanks, Steve. Fascinating and as entertaining as always. I'm really looking forward to my Model Y in the spring. It should be available before that but I'm being disciplined and sticking to the agreed lease timeline's start date. Any new Tesla vids would be welcomed - especially if your Dad's involved 🙂!

Great video, Steve. Thanks! I enjoyed watching it as much as you enjoyed making it (and, yes, I was laughing as well). These superchargers certainly seem to make every Tesla driver absolutely ecstatic. You should try a road trip like that using BP Pulse. That'd give you some unforgettable footage, without a doubt . . . 😡🤬😭

As yet, I'm a non EV driver, but imo the charging stops are good in a safety way, as they are "forcing" you to stop and take a break. Which can only be a good thing !
@RB-lt8kt Жыл бұрын
Your videos give real EV driving experience which is good to see. Pity no one has done a model 3 standard vs long range distance test. The standard range would stop more often but needs less charge each time as it has a smaller battery. Is the standard range more efficient as its lighter ? I am testing the range of my Cupra Born V2 58 kwh in different weather conditions. If climate is turned off I get a better range in summer or winter. The claimed range of my car must have been done with climate OFF as I can get over 4 miles per kwh in summer with climate OFF.

Interesting points! I think the SR max charging rate it 170kW compared to LR/P's at 250kW, however when I Super charge mine, it doesnt spend that much time at teh very top speeds. It would be food to see how each one tapers down. I'm sure @RSEV will have compared. Good choice with the Born!

@@SteveJulien Thank you. My 2017 Audi S3 is missed but water the pump was possibly the next expensive problem. Apparently even Audi don't like selling 5 year old S3's as the car has several known common problems along with the Golf R, GTI, Leon and Skoda VRS 2 litre petrol. Born interior is massive in comparison to A3 / S3 pity I couldn't stretch to a model Y.

Imagine if a vehicle had a 900 plus mile range and it took less than 5mins to fully replemish the energy it consumed . You could stop when you wanted not when your vehicle needed . That would be great wouldn't it ?
